Simply insert a SIM from a different network (mine is O2 so I used a Virgin SIM).

When you switch your phone on, after trying to connect it will say "Limited Availability" or something like that, I can't quite remember!

Enter *#9998*3323# as if you were phoning it, but then press the red "hang-up" button. That should do it.

According to various posters on the forum Entering *#9998*3323# is almost sure to completely mess up you phone. Have a read through the thread before you consider doing this

Ok I read the first part of the post but there is no mention of Siemens - I need to unlock a A65 - looking on the net it can be unlocked via IMEI number but all the sites I found want £20 to do this !! Any ideas?

I bought one of these clips from Fonefunshop (9.99 + postage). The first clip did exactly this so i emailed them and they sent out a replacement straightaway which worked. May have cost a little more but at least it worked (eventually!)

I finally got one that worked. With the cost of posting back the old clip recorded delivery It would have been almost as cheap and a lot quicker going the same route as yourself
