Just noticed this on the Parking charge notice.
"This Parking Charge Notice is issued to vehicle registration mark ******* for allegedly breaching the car park terms and conditions of access to the Privately Operated Roads at Liverpool John Lennon Airport

It doesn't make sense which is no surprise, how can you breach a car park terms on a road before getting to the car park ? Anyway do I suggest or tell dave to ignore

Please - get off this ancient thread and stop reading it now. See my signature below for where to click to see current threads.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yep, do that asap, so they have your name and address instead. They will not be trying Court, they tried once last year and got their fingers burnt. Worry ye not! You would win if they tried, and they won't. It will just be a matter of ignoring the letters.
Thanks I'll do that then they can GTF

You both must get it clear in your minds though that IT'S NOT A FINE!
It does help with your resolve to fight these money grabbing scammers!
  • Hoping this is an appropriate place to post.

This bunch of cowboys photographed my car in December of last year, temporarily waiting down a side road with badly faded double-yellows (considerably more gap than paint - I'd say about 90% worn) and a warning sign that simply advised that I could be fined £100 for parking in the hire car return car park (I waited on the road outside it.)

I ignored the 'fine' and have heard no more about it. The trouble now is that I intend to meet a friend at Liverpool Airport later this week. I know that all of their car parks operate an ANPR system (your registration is printed on the ticket) and just have visions of the barrier refusing to rise unless I phone them and instantly pay whatever the dandy highwayman of the day insists in order to release my car.

I'm just wondering whether my fears are completely unfounded, or whether they do have systems that work like this. It would certainly be technically possible, though I'm not sure of the legality (potentially false imprisonment? Especially since clamping has been outlawed.)

I suppose my question is: Has anyone here ignored a PCN from Liverpool Airport and subsequently used their car parks without incident?

    Its not!

Your situation is vastly different to the OP - Rather than confusing things further, starting your own thread would be entirely appropriate.

And you might want to look at just a few of the stack of other threads, closer to your situation about VCS at this airport as well.
