Pregnancy tests - how many to do??

Probably a silly question, but I'm new to all this.
Was due 'on' yesterday and over the moon when nothing started. So bought some pregnancy tests this morning, only did 1 test and it came back positive.
Is that too early to assume its correct?
The pack had 3 tests in so intended on doing another one tomorrow morning and if the result is positive again then wanted to get into the drs next week.
Do people usually do a few tests just to be sure of the result? I only bought cheap tests as didn't wanna spend loads of money, they're not exactly cheap.

Hi OP,
You can pretty safely assume that you are pregnant. In your position I'd do nothing; don't waste further tests - as you say, they are expensive! If you have no bleeding by Monday, get yourself an appointment with the GP. Congratulations!

Doctor won't do anything other than arrange for midwife to book you in at about 8 weeks. Their tests are the same as the ones you buy so they save themselves the expense.
It's unusual to get a false negative. If leave it a few days and then retest, but looks like you are preggers!!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I don't know whether to be excited or not, lol as don't wanna be disappointed and find out the test can a false reading.
Hubby is the same, he keeps telling me to just wait a little longer like into next week before I do another test.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

No the drs go from the home test.
If you've missed your period and got a positive you're pregnant. You won't get a booking in appt for another 3-4 weeks so you could ring up to arrange that.0 -
No blood tests. If you have a positive pregnancy test, no period, they'll just arrange for your booking appointment with the midwife. In some areas you can even refer yourself to the midwife.x x x0

The doctors won't do a blood test or any other test. One positive test is enough. You're pregnant. Congratulations."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
No, no blood test. Some GPs will do a urine test but many won't.
You can get pregnancy tests from Pound/discount shops that should work just as well if you want to take multiple tests just to be sure!
How are you feeling? Any nausea, breast tenderness, emotional changes? You can get them all early on.
Congratulations.
