It would cost you a little bit of money but could you not go and get it unlocked (lots of places do it now) that would save you the hassle?

Just a thought as trying to cancel bids at the last second is going to be tough, and you might end up selling for a low price.

I am disabled & house bound, my elderly Mum will take it to the post office for me if I did sell it

She has no way of getting to somewhere that unlocks phones. It is sealed in the box.

I will just have to wait until the phone sells & then contact the buyer very quickly before they send me the money to paypal & hope & pray that they are ok & not become annoyed or abusive & leave bad feedback.

Huh? Shill bidding is when you bump the amount up by bidding on it with another account, then cancel the bid when the OTHER person's bid reaches its max.

I did not suggest this. I suggested getting friend to WIN the auction by bidding a huge amount (so not shill bidding, as no one is going to pay say £5000 for it!!), then just sending cancellation to get fees back, then relisting correctly.

As it would be a one off, then no issues. A LOT of people cancel agter auctions finish.

Slight rule bending, but it is NOT shill bidding, as the OP doesn't gain financial advantage.

you can get phone unlock codes on the net, ive done it myself before. You just enter the numbers the email tells you and your phones unlocked. I think it cost me just under £10.00 but the cost depends on the phone. Could be worth looking though.

No this is a form of shill billing as you are getting a person you know to bid on your listing to bump up the price

They wouldn't be doing it to bump the price thou, it would be done to stop anyone winning it.

Could you get someone you know to ask you a question and then chose to publish your answer? I am pretty sure the answers to questions still show up even in the last 12 hours.

That won't help though as people who have set snipe bids or even just have it on their watch list probably won't see the question.

Someone has bid & I sent a message explaining that the phone is probably locked to Vodafone & to take there bid off if they don't want a Vodafone locked iPhone half an hour ago with no reply so I sent it again
