I can't Stop The Auction

I posted this in the wrong section so will bring the link over here

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4398655

As you will see I was given some advise on the Tech board on this forum that a iPhone 5 I won in a competition which has a Vodafone Sim card pack was un locked, but found out after messaging the Apple forum that it is probably locked to Vodafone.

I have managed to cancel a bid on the phone & they know & that's fine, but I can not edit, or stop the auction as it has less then 12 hours left.

I will now have to message everyone who bids on the phone to tell them it's locked to Vodafone & that could be a lot of messages as there are 17 people watching the phone. It ends tonight at 7.30pm.

I have listed it as Paypal only so at least I can return there money if I do get paid for it.

I just thought I would ask if there is a phone number for Ebay I could call & ask them to cancell the auction?

Thank's

    Can't revise within 12 hours.

OP have you tried again to end auction, I was able to end one recently with less than 12 hours to go- it might have been a glitch but it is worth a try

No it won't let me add anything, or take anything away because it's less than 12 hours left.

I have just contacted Ebay & they can not stop or alter the auction either as its less than 12 hours.

They said leave it to the last few mins then cancel all the bids. I am in the dodo so to speak.

I just tried again & it come up with this

Your listing can't end early if there are bids on the item, the reserve price has been met, or the listing ends in 12 hours or less

There are now no bids as I cancelled the one I had & there is no reserve price

Cancelling the bids as they come on will probably not do any good because of snipers bidding in the last seconds. Can you do anything with publishing answers to questions? Or some sellers get a banner put at the top of auctions usually when they are going on holiday and won't post immediately.

Very naughty, but could you get a friend to bid a ridiculous amount for it, then when they win, send a cancellation?

You're likely to get people using a sniper to win, so it might be less hassle than dealing with a stroppy buyer who could leave you a neg.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Dont do this ( shill bidding) unless you want your ebay account closed down.

i find you can cancel within the 12 hours if you use their Turbo lister http://pages.ebay.co.uk/turbo_lister/

I just wish I never got up this morning lol

I hate stuff like this. No it won't let me add anything to the post at all. When I spoke to ebay customer service they said they can't do anything now it's less than 12 hours. If I listed it as a buy now I could then alter it, though I have not tried this before.
