Seller cannot check that though as she has sold a sealed box. If she opens it then a SNAD claim can be made.

True, i have sold a few sealled Mobiles on ebay, but i do place in the description that the phones are new in sealed boxes, but just before posting the box will be opened to take note of the IMEI number of the phone. this then covers you against any SNAD
  • Email buyer tell Them you are opening box for the number. Take a photo of it sealed with today's paper by it. It may have been someone has deliberately bid on this to con you so make sure you are covered, can you really afford to lose the phone and money?

Don't think I'd be very happy if I bought a 'sealed' phone only to get it unsealed. SNAD I'd call it.

No it doesn't, description says new and sealed and if it arrives with buyer open it is SNAD. Otherwise think of the scamming potential. You need to sell it as open box and explain in listing that you have opened it to make a note of the number.

Me neither, I would assume a dodgy seller

  • Just to point out the OP cannot open the phone to get the IMEI number, there isn't a battery compartment on an iPhone and the only way to get the IMEI number to match the box is to turn the phone on.

IMEI codes are always printed on the side of the box, usually on a sticker next to the barcode.

If you're unsure, just take a photo of all the barcodes and crap on the side.

    Something like this

    iPhone-4S1.jpg

If the phone gets returned you can check it, on a iPhone 5 is engraved on the back of the case, on the older ones its on the SIM card tray.

Just thought I would let you all know, the phone arrived at the buyers home today. They have checked it out & tried T-Mobile sim in the phone as well as the Vodafone sim they are going to use & it works in both, so being T-Mobile, Orange & EE would also work so it does seem the phone is unlocked.

So all of that stress & worry for nothing!. But it was not for nothing really as I have learnt many lessons here, which I have learnt from & will take with me.

Thank You for all your replys
