So believe the advertising blurb if you want, that's all the link is, but ask the sparky/plumber who comes along to lay cables or pipes what he think about the stuff???:(:(:(

They would probably do as they normally do, smash big holes in it :D

    John..

Yes, that's the whole point, they destroy the sheets completely, glued down there will be damage to the joists and extra fitting time too, just thinking ahead.;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

But the chipboard could be cut out - following trades do not have to smash, particularly if they have to make good and are thinking ahead.

The glue detail came about as an answer to squeaky floors.

    .

You where the one that said

"They would probably do as they normally do, smash big holes in it"

I simply agreed that, yes, they would.

Point of fact; they don't have to, but it is cheaper to replace the sheet than frig about supporting cutouts etc.

And as I said the whole point of this thread is to NOT create another problem whilst curing the 1st, (squeak)

just clearing some furniture. the rows of screws/nails are approx 600mm apart, presumably that is how far apart the joists are. Is this acceptable?

Well it may certainly help the poor sot that has the job of lifting the floor next time, and that may just be the OP:D:D

Update. Hatches were cut in the flooring so joiner could inspect.

Straps were loose, so they fixed them down. No joy.

Extra noggins were fitted across the joists in some areas. No joy.

Cracking noises appeared to be coming from joists themselves, the I-Joist type. No excessive movement, just noise when they're stood on. Exacerbated when the flooring in in place. The noise is horrendous.

Completely stumped. Problem now in the hands of management. Nothing more the joiner could do this week.
