  • ETO - Hope you enjoy Les Mis, I really wanna see it but OH is not a fan of those type of films so will have to wait until it is out.

Tues - Had my monthly waxing appointment rearranged from Saturday due to snow which was £25.00 but had already been accounted for due to the original date. Went to Mr T's for replacement pads for my washing up cleaner and some liquitabs for the washing machine (half price) £7.08 spent (£7.92 put into savings pot which included the £5.00 change from appt)

Have a good day everyone xxx

    Hi All...

    Planned Spend Day today...

Petrol £40.35 (to clear loose change in account!)... Normally I have to get it *exactly* on the £X.00 lol... OCD much?!?

Prescription £15.30 - unavoidable - but hopefully last one!!!

Naughty veggie sausage roll and savory whilst out as a treat!!! £3.50

Thought as I'm spending I may as well get some basics in to save another spend day later in the week (as am on a NSD challenge elsewhere). Grocery shop (all good!) £12.28

Not counting petrol in the mix as kind of essential... (and my weekly spend challenge is for food/spends). I'll shove the prescription on as had forgotten about it and not budgeted for it... so has to come out this week's money! Hope that's ok.

    T
    otal spend today = £33.58

Ps. Amended total as bought chips!!! Bad bad BAD!!! No more naughty treats for me now, I promise!!!

Ok I've been a bit naughty today. I went to the local co-op and spent £13 on whoopsies and some dog food. (nicely stocked freezer for the last week of the month now!) And as it was soooooo cold i treated myself and bought a bacon sarnie and a chocolate eclair from the bakers =£3.

    Total spends today £16.
BUT I also got paid from some temp work i've been doing which was £56 so i guess that cancels out the bacon sarnie lol.

Week total £62/£100 (earnings not inc. £56)
    Looking for a fresh start

    Hi All!

I'm up at £8 spend from Sunday - I went to Tesco at the weekend and stocked up on lunches for the week.

Haven't spent anything else since, feel like my mindset is definitely changing for the better.

I may have to pay for my prescription this week though - I applied for a prepaid certificate in December but there was a problem (not at my end) with the direct debit so it's not gone out yet and I don't have my card. I do have the reference, so one pharmacy has given me an item free when they've seen the reference, but at least if I do have to pay for the prescription I can get a refund later on. It had better not take me over my £15 though! :p
  • Evening everyone

Well i didnt make it to the cinema this evening as my friend had some bad news so we have put it off for a couple of weeks.

Did a grocery shop instead so still a spend day and still in budget. :j

I just have to share - baby's really been kicking this evening to the point that i can actually see the movements in my stomach, it is really weird. :D

Ok so, do we include things other than grocery? coz as far as grocery goes I'm doing ok -
Meal plan using things had in stock -
    Sunday - Roast Beef
    Monday - Prawn Noodles
Tuesday - Chicken curry (done in slow cooker)
Wednesday - Beef caserole (done in slow cooker)
    Thursday - Fish Pie
Friday - Chorizo pasta (done in slow cooker)
Saturday - Jambalaya (done in slow cooker)
I am loving my slow cooker - went to Mr T yesterday and actually counted how much I was spending as I went round (a first for me!) - I spent a total of £21.88 got some value items instead of branded as I would normally so am feeling quite pleased with myself!
However, other money that has had to go out this week is not so good:
£7.00 on lights for sons bedroom
    £45.00 Daughters Guides trips
    £4.95 SW
    £4.99 Cafe after SW
    £3.20 coffee at kids swimming
    £14.95 duvet cleaned
which altogether totals a whopping £101.97!!!!
so not so good but at least I'm keeping a tally xxxx
    Weightloss 2013 = 3lb/40lb
    £2 savers club = £2
    Weekly Grocery Challenge w/c 20/1 = £101.97/£30

Hi all, well first day of the week out of the house for me. Needed a sandwich tin & browsing the internet they were all £4+ but I looked at Dunelm website as a last option & there's was £1.49 but reduced to £1.19 so I bought 2 for when I find time to start baking again!

Other spends were in the grocery budget which still has £160+ in it! That will go back to DH at the end of the month though as we're doing a lot of DIY & he needs it to assist with funds.

I'm hoping that's it for spends this week :D

£15.42 left out of £20 budget :j Need to do this every week though!

ETO - Sorry to hear your friend had bad news and you couldn't watch the movie.

Wed - Went to WW meeting in morning with being off (0.5lb off which is good as I've been struggling to get back on the right track), bought draw ticket, biscuits and fudge bars from meeting. Went to Mr T's after and bought frozen blueberries, bananas (possibly something else too but can't find receipt) £7.08 spent (£2.92 in savings pot).

Have a good evening everyone xx

    Hi rellaella

This is a weekly SPEND challenge, rather than a weekly grocery challenge, but you can include whatever you like and what works for you.

I used to do the separate monthly grocery challenge, but i went over my budget every month, so i now do a weekly grocery budget but include it in my weekly spends. so i tend to have a budget for the week that i divide for the things i need to do or buy. This helps me to not overspend on food but to to not waste money on 'nothing', bits and bobs and stuff i dont need. if that makes sense.

So this week i have a budget of £100, which is £50 for groceries, £25 for petrol, and £25 for miscellaneous inc cinema trip, and coffee with friends. And i am really trying not to go over that.
