Afternoon
Snow slowly melting here and am hoping it continues. I am supposed to be meeting a friend for dinner and havent seen her since Oct so be a shame if we have to cancel.
I have decided to really get a grip on finances etc. I am ok when they arent too bad but as soon as things go wrong I bury my head in the sand. This has stopped from today. I have started a new shopping budget spreadsheet and will make big effort to have no food waste, it shouldnt be too difficult with 16 year old eating monster in the house!
Have downgraded TV package (its only thing DS really wants, he never asks for much, even walked home 5 miles from college as he couldnt use bus pass as late on Monday, his sister would have been straight on the phone for a lift!! so dont want to cancel unless absolutely have to), and will make concerted effort to cycle more once weather improves, its 4 miles to work now we have moved instead of half a mile but I can do it if I get motivated and money saved on petrol should be enough.
OS today WM on, will put on airer when finished, DW will go on when we have had lunch as nearly full, must remember to get YS beef out of freezer for tomorrows dinner, should give us couple of days worth of meals although only small bit, will also do some baking for week while oven on tomorrow too.
Hope everyone keeping safe and warm, thought to all.Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

Afternoon
Been out with the kids sledging this morningglad we went out early as it was really busy when we left and car park was rammed with people turning up and no where to go.
Had words with a bloke about his charming teenage son chucking a snowball at our car as it passed (he was doing it to others) and he basically couldn't give a toss  ever wonder why some kids don't give a rats @$$ about other people these days <rollseyes>
Not sure about tea as I am off out with a friend tonightI am driving which I prefer so H will have to fend for himself.
I am lounging on the bed, I could get used to this :rotfl:
Tru oooh very niceI always wanted a window seat but I suspect the reality wouldn't be as comfortable as I imagine :rotfl:

His name isn't Humphrey, is it?:D Remember the old milk slogan.... "Watch out, watch out, there's a Humphrey about" and all you saw was a long straw appear and go into the milk glass, and the milk start disappearing.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We actually have a couple of Humphrey mugs, which still get used !Early retired - 18th December 2014

Yes I do remember that and he does bear a passing resemblance....I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Afternoon All
 Welcome emalou88
We had a lot of snow yesterday and it is really chilly in that wind today. A snowbunny appeared on my wheelie bin this morning, courtesy of DS who went out to feed the birds for me :rotfl:
We went to town yesterday morning and there were hardly any stalls on the market and the GG hadn't turned up so went into Farmfoods and got a 7.5 kg sack of potatoes for £3, people were having a go at the staff because there was no bread or milk - it wasn't their fault the lorries couldn't get through it makes me really angry when shop staff are treated like dirt especially when they have to work long unsocial hours on minimum wage
DS went up to check if our elderly neighbour was ok and to see if she needed anything. Luckily she is fine, but he sad he will pop in on Monday to see if she needs anything from the shop.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon All
Friends coming for dinner so have cleaned and tidied the house, the Australians have gone to Edinburgh for the weekend - we went out with some other friends last night till 11.30 which is far too late for me! I was driving and it was lovely to get up this morning with a clear head.
No snow hear, had a couple of little flurries but thankfully we have missed it this time, hope you are all coping.
Tru - That looks fantastic and I have just the space but unfortunately no funds to do it! Once I move I will certainly look for a property with the right space.
Take care. XX0
