Morning all,
No more snow for us overnight, but the old stuff has frozen solid, and is very slippery, we are due a load more tomorrow, I managed to get my car up the steep slope which is our driveway, but by the time OH came home several hours later he could not get his up (oh err) , so thats abandoned at the bottom of the drive, and will have to me moved.
I must tell you about little dog, who hates water with a passion, and will tiptoe around the most tiny of puddles, she saw the snow, and became like a pup, spent ages playing and jumping around, she came in covered in snow, and she is 11
Tru, could you not hang your front door the other way round ? I could remove my boot / coat cupboard and fit one of those in, but The boot cupboard is so handy  I love them though.
Got the first of 2 washes on the go, might even hang them out there is a hell of a wind.
Dinner tonight is sausage in a bun with onions, OH will cook, dd cooks friday and OH sat, and a joint effort on sun, I do the rest of the week.
If I cant get the car out I will walk and see my dad, then this afternoon OH and I will go walking, which will be bracing to say the least
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning all.
I slept until 9 o'clock this morning, and so did the DH. Quite unusual for him as he's more of an early bird than me.
We've been out, just a walk to the post office to post a parcel, and now we are in for the weekend.
We have a light covering of snow, and the roads are clear. I think our main event snow starts overnight and tomorrow.
I've changed the bedclothes and the WM is on. I'm going to do some ironing, and lunch will be a hearty potato soup which I've had in the freezer, for just such a cold day as this. We also have some crusty rolls to go with it.
Then it'll be an eBay afternoon, got some personal and some business things to list.
Enjoy your day and keep warm.Early retired - 18th December 2014

morning!
lots of snow here but no more overnight. The main roads are clear. DH didn't get far yesterday on his milkround as most of it is down country lanes and up and down hills. He's out there now - not heard from him yet as to how he's coping.
Work for me later so I'm pottering this morning.
Have dyed my hair, cleaned the bathroom and run the vac around downstairs. Second load in the WM.
HM sweet potato and butternut squash curry defrosting for me to take to work for tea.:)
I had a go at some sugar free scones yesterday for a snack for DH(newly diagnosed diabetic) they tasted fine but were very crumbly. I got the recipe from my low GI book.
JackieO - wel done Tessa:T
Tru - I love the idea of a reading nook, got no space for one though:cool: our spare roor is half my art studio and half DH's office. Mind you if I did have one I think I'd be in there most of the day:D I liked number 7 and 8 but they were all fab!
Have a lovely weekend all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all, no more snow overnight, but scared myself silly skidding yesterday so the car is staying put until the roads are clearer. Main roads around me are ok, but the hill I live on is steep and slippery. More snow forecast later today and tomorrow. It looks gorgeous and I will probably go for a walk out in it later.
Getting caught up with work (Jan is a busy month) so that's good, but OH can't make it down to me as planned this weekend which is a shame. Had to cancel swimming session with my son too. His carers were prepared to try the roads to get him here and I could walk, but I don't want to be responsible for them struggling or getting stuck so said no, leave it. Lovely people to be prepared to try.
Lunch will be HM soup and dinner probably vegetable fajitas.
Those reading nooks look magical!

Morning all!
Well, the combination of a couple of very large drinks and staying up till 2.30am with DS did the trick, and I have finally had a few hours sleep, must have been snoring a bit cos my mouth was like the bottom of a birdcage at 6am, got up for a glass of juice and went back to bed till 9am!
Need to go have a rummage, MIL phoned last night and is looking for some family photos- Iain had a photo of FIL and his gran in a frame somewhere which she would like to put in FILs room at the home, and we have a large picture of MILs grandfather in his army uniform which she would like to give to her cousin as he doesnt have a pic of their grandfather, know where that is as its huge and framed, the other is currently a mystery although I may have an inkling. Fear this is just an excuse so I go over, havent seen her this week since monday although have phoned every day!
Anyways, stay safe today in the snow, we still have sunshine but its still flipping cold!RIP Iain

Jools - just do things at your own pace. Glad you managed a sleep xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all (just):D
Have had a lovely lie in, and stress free morning so far.Need to go out in a bit for bread etc, but the snow is coming down a bit so I might walk;)
Got a parking ticket at home bargs yest, for parking in a disabled bay which I couldn't see cos of snow, I thought it was a parent n child spot:o:o Have looked on the advice on here, and wont be paying or contacting them though;)
Tried the bridesmaids dresses on Boo and my Niece last night, and they looked sooo cute:D:D
Hope you all have a lovely day, and don't get snowed in:D:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Its finally snowing, and for the first time ever DS is not amused.....guess he's growing up at last!!!!! He has just been sent out to empty all the crud from my car, assorted jackets, cardis etc and lock n lock food boxes, so that if he has the promised clear out of clothes I can cart the bags to the charity shop! Although worryingly he thinks when he has sorted his out he will be acquiring some of his dads "retro" footie and rugby tops, this could be interesting as the only ones which will fit him are those from the eighties/early nineties I fear!!!RIP Iain
