I like number 2 too, but can't do it. I'm not very good at describing things but I'll do my best :D - it would fit under our stairs (in the hall), it's opened up already. They're the same as the picture, but just to the left is the front door, so I'd have to build a wall (easy). That wouldn't leave enough space to use the door properly :(

    Good Morning x
Thank you for the hugs and best wishes for little Molly. She is a little subdued but seems more her usual self now - thank goodness.

Hester - rest up today x

Im still confined to barracks but it is fine as we have loads of milk in. My DS2 is a milk monster and came home with 3 times 6 pints of milk incase he ran out:eek: They both set out in the snow at 5.30am to get to work at the c0-0p. They are holding the fort as we have very heavy snow so the managers can not get in:eek:

Hope you have a good day x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Good Morning All

Quite pathetic amount of snow here which suits me fine :D

DS' football training has been cancelled :j and there is no match tomorrow :j

Didn't get hardly anything done yesterday, spent most of the day on the phone to drivers with snow problems. Luckily everyone was fine and got back safely.

So not really sure what to do today, might do some office work, might do some housework or might light the fire and read my kindle :) One thing I have to do is make some bread, going to use my Kenwood and not the BM as been reading the Kenwood thread and has inspired me.

Think will be lasagne for dinner tonight with jacket spuds.

Have a great day all, keep warm and safe.x
  • Hello everyone. We had very heavy snow last night, just as I was leaving work. I drove to my mums to check she was ok, and the roads were dreadful. The council area that she lives in were saying they were more than prepared for the snow, but its painfully obvious that they haven't been out and treated the roads at all this week. My mum lives on a main road too, and that was terrible. When I finally got over towards my house, the roads were fine, because the council had been out! My estate however is awful! I had to abandon my car on my driveway, couldn't get it straightened up!!
I need to go to Asda, so I am going to get wrapped up warm and walk round. Its not far, just a 15 min walk or so. It wont do my asthma any good at all, but I need to go!
Hope you are all well and keeping safe and warm in this weather.
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
  • Good morning all,
We had a little bit more snow overnight. It has just started snowing again now though. Flakes are getting bigger. Sky looks full of it.
Not going out today. So i will spend the day catching up on ironing and housework.
Tea tonight is chilli (from the freezer) with jacket potato for hubby and one daughter and other daughter and myself will have fish with jacket potato and salad. I make our chilli milder and couldn't find any of ours in the freezer otherwise we would have had the same.
Jackie, well done to Tessa :j.
tru, would be lovely to have one of those :),
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

    Good Morning Everyone

We had more snow yesterday evening. The car is covered. No hill-walking for us today so will spend the day catching up with various jobs around the house.

I made pancakes for breakfast but am not sure what we will have for lunch and dinner. Normally on a Saturday its a packed lunch then something from the freezer for dinner. I was going to take a home made lamb curry out but will leave that for a day when we can go out and cook something else.

Poor DH will have to out in a bit to help clear the road-we seem to be the only people on our road who walk anywhere so everyone will be desperate to get their cars out.We have a grit-bin for the road-all the residents had to club together to buy it as the council wouldn't provide one.

Just wondering where I can fit a reading nook in.

    Stay warm

DD will nip to Spar later to get a newspaper and bits we need. jack loves the snow so he has had a good walk this morning but Loki has decided it's too cold. Glad your dogs are better Molly and Cait hope they continue to improve. Well done to Tessa JackieO glad she has got a better job. Hope all the poorlies feel better soon, have a good day and stay safe and warm.:) Spent much of yesterday sewing so now need to tidy and do some de-cluttering:eek:
Tru love the reading nooks, would love one too but really need a sewing room first.

  • Morning all,

Hoping it's ok to join in :) Hugs to all who need it.

After yesterday's half snow day, today I'm back at work. I won't get any customers because we are far out on a business estate. Never mind I've got my netbook for company and have the heaters wacked up.

I don't think it's snowed over night but it's still quiet deep here, we are expecting more tomorrow.

I walked to work and made it in one piece! I've brought soup and bread for lunch and am keeping warm with hot drinks.
Here till 5 then walk home via the shop as we need a few bits. I will defrost, have a bath and get into some warm clothes.

Then I'll make a pork, apple and cider casserole for tea, some falafel, cookies or shortbread and a courgette cake to take to my Mum's tomorrow.
I'll curl up with a good book /a recipe book, a blanket, hot water bottle and more hot drinks and have an early night. Bliss.....

Have a good one all :)

The greatest plans of mice & men!!

Checked the weather for tomorrow and we would be driving 500 miles in snow, not a clever idea, so changed the plans and now going next Saturday. :( Only cost us 29€ so not bank breaking, and that was for an hotel offer I cannot change/cancel. Now re-booked the tunnel FOC. Better put a loaf on now. Better safe than sorry, and nothing spoiling.

DH has taken Skye off for a walk down the back lanes, with her coat on, she is not impressed with wearing one. :rotfl:

Glad Molly dog seems improved, and hopefully Mr LW has shaken off his manful, and LW & ? (Forgot who) have got rid of their migraines.

    Take care all. DG

    Morning all:j:j

I hope that you are all keeping safe and warm.

    And enjoying the snow:)

We have a good 10" (But I don't use it as a rule:rotfl:) Sorry I just had to say that:rotfl:

The chickens are out and a bit more use to the snow now. They still don't look happy about it all.

We have to try and get out today to get a bit of shopping. We don't need much really. Just some meat for Sunday lunch and a few odds and ends.
They have said that there is a chance of more snow later today and also tomorrow.

Later the girls wont to have another play In the snow. Oh to be a four and a half year old again:j:j

Well I hope that you all have a great day.
    Keep warm, safe, and enjoy:j:j
