OP, get yourself a piano. SS never take the kids away if there's a piano in the house. Fact."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

So why is the Education Welfare Officer involved?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
the typical nosey nanny state. Make a formal complaint and dont let it lie, there are too many of these thieves walking around making a living out of patronising others and making indirect accusations that they can not back up. Invite her to put her accusations in writing, along with any evidence of wrong doing and then invite her to discuss it in court.
I do hope the OP decides to ignore this advice.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I think your children are well cared for. I suspect you love them dearly, look after them well, and they enjoy the love and support of a big, extended family. In that sense then, there is, like you say, nothing more to it.
However, perhaps you're a bit blind to the impression YOU give to social services, the health visitor and possibly will to the education welfare officer too. If you're defensive, or aggressively adamant that you don't need help, or stand-offish, or combative, or dismissive or any other emotion that wouldn't surprise me judging from some of your posts, then that's why you have the combined interest of all these different departments. Put simply YOUR behaviour causes them concern. Can you not see that that might be a possibility? Can you not understand that if this were simply about the authorities and the way they behave then half the parents in the country would be telling similar stories? When you provoke the concern of SS etc. whilst those around you don't, doesn't that prompt you first to examine your own behaviour?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

If it was me I wouldn't see a problem Social Services etc checking things out. There are more important things in life to fret about.
You know you are a good parent, why not let them see you are as well.
More of these checks may have stopped some of the terrible tragedies we have witnessed in this country.
I would prefer they did a 1000 checks if it stopped 1 tragedy.
Though I know in the USA the OP's view would be totally agreed with as they think the state shouldnt get too involved in how they bring their kids up and homeschooling is really common in some areas.
When my youngest was 10 months old he fell and fractured his skull. Totally my fault as I had put him on the sofa, and he managed to fall to the floor before I could get to him. Despite being he youngest of 3 and no previous incidents, the hospital got SS involved, which I could totally understand.
My attitude would be to just co-operate and be yourself with them. They will soon leave you alone when they see you are coping fine.
I totally agree with fluffnutter's advise.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
