Ooh, I love that you blew the budget on knee boots! Totally a woman's prerogative! I agree though, nothing disastrous at all! I'm actually planning a budget blow on the Monday after Christmas to replace the wardrobe of clothes I have and don't wear!

I'm not a big fan of gluten free things! Did you manage to get through it?

I finished the pizza and will use the other one in the pack but won't buy that brand again!

Feeling a bit better about the boots since I FINALLY got through to the useless internet company (I hope your ears are burning, EE) and they have now agreed that yes, they should refund me the line rental I paid in advance for the time that they weren't actually giving me the service. Yes, of course you should, otherwise it's called BREACH OF CONTRACT and just because your poor service staff don't know how to process it doesn't mean I'm going to let you away with it! Anyway the refund is about equal to the cost of the boots :D

And in small :money:things, one of the books I put on Amazon after buying the updated edition has sold :T

Yay to neutral boots price and a sold older edition book! Also that's great you stuck to it as I'm sure they deliberately don't let service staff know how to process refunds to make it that little bit more complicated for you to get the refund. I'm sure some will have tried and given up on it!

I think that too - I have now asked FIVE times for the complaint to be escalated, and so far it's never happened. It really isn't fair on the service staff - I had one telling me that she quite understood why a refund of £2 per month for the broadband wasn't sufficient when I also should get line rental at £15 per month, but the poor lass didn't seem to have any knowledge of how to reach someone to process the line rental. Fortunately I eventually got someone who could do a decent refund! And that's quite apart from having to explain to them that while I know it's not their fault, actually it is quite important that they log the point about my having to take an extra day off work because it's a cost to me and I'm entitled to claim for it! It's such a false economy because they now have stressed staff who they are probably paying badly anyway and will move on as soon as they can, and a customer who will never use them again and has told everyone how appalling the complaints process is.

  • Um, well, it doesn't look like I will be paying off the Last Card in January after all. At least not til the January paycheque. I have rather overspent on Christmas in several directions - between filling the freezer, spending far more on presents than planned and silly amounts of petrol, it's all got a bit out of control. I don't feel bad about this as the lack of planning is mostly due to uncertainty about a friend's surgery date, so the lack of planning has been for a very good reason.

Christmas has been OK so far - I'm looking forward to a bigger family gathering tomorrow, which always feels more like a proper Christmas event. I am really hoping that next year I will be able to do more and make it properly Christmas my way. New Year is going to be a quiet one - lots of planning and thinking to do :D

    Hello Rosa,
I hope you're having a great time at your bigger family gathering today. It's nice to hear that Christmas went well and that the extra spends haven't really caused you any stress like they probably would have done even last year. As good as we all are generally, it's lovely that when a curve ball strikes, we can cope and be ok with it.

Do you have any ideas for how you want 2016 to go for you?

    Hello Rosa,

I've just read your comments on my diary and wanted to make sure I got this to you before I log off from here. If you do use no rush delivery and receive amazon promotional credit then use this link to check how much credit you have >>> http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?docId=1000706783

As far as I know, when you order a kindle book it will automatically take from your Amazon promotional credit first. Then it will take gift card credit and then your selected payment method. I'm as sure as I can be that it looks for kindle payment in that order.

Your NYE plans sound perfect. You're definitely right about spending time with lovely people and saving the planning for later. A great resolution.

And the acting - the doing. Don't forget the part that makes the thought into reality.

Happy New Year to you and yours and I wish you all the best for 2016. :kisses3:
