Right, a bit of an update!

I still have no 'net, looks like it's a problem with the line from when upstairs changed their supplier. But the guys upstairs have very kindly given me access to their connection in the meantime so at least I can try and keep myself on track here!

And this means I really do have to face up to the YNAB receipt pile again... _pale_. I know I need to get back on track though as I was almost late with a card payment - that hasn't happened in years.

I'm hoping to start the new job at the end of this month or start of next one, not least because it's a significant pay rise! I have spent a bit on celebrations... went out for cocktails and lunch, but have managed not to go bonkers. (Well, I bought the mogs a new bed, and booked a haircut. Wild spending. Something on this site must have rubbed off eventually :rotfl: .)

I've been tidying the flat again as I finally have some energy, no urgent thing to prep for and light evenings! So have got the worst of it sorted and it looks rather better than even two days ago. I managed to water the poor garden tonight and will also get out there to try and rescue some of my pots, and have a look at what's in the storage shed.

I am planning to move once I have the new job confirmed and know what days I will be working in what location. Haven't decided yet whether to really focus on going elsewhere and rent for a while, or to buy somewhere - the new salary is enough to do that, and I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to sell or rent if I do want to move. In the meantime I'm just going to try and get rid of junk I shouldn't move with me!

I do love the vision board - and I know I've said it before but I'm really pleased I bought the frame for it so that it fits in with the room. Makes it look more cared for than if I'd left it on plain card, and like I take it seriously. I'm loving being able to look up at it in between other things and be reminded of all the good things that are going to happen :D

Beautiful Rosa, your updates are always so inspiring.

I've still not sorted out my vision board! I should do that today I think as it's vital for my new journey!!!! Thank you for pushing that to the front of my brain! I'd definitely love to hear about any board activities that come to fruition in real life as I'm positive they will for you.

I hope you're able to start your new job when you want to. Such an exciting step forward.

    Hi MT

Well I think my new job is the first part of my vision board that's come up - it's making a new life without giving up the good bits of my old one. Right next to that is a pic of a woman doing yoga ... and we've started a class at work and I really like the instructor so hope to do more training with her.

Moving across the board from there are a couple of pics of a window view and the kind of bath I want, so let's see what turns up with the househunting!

Have you thought about adding something to make your board really special, as motivation to make it? A pretty frame or background, or stick on sparkles and glitter? (I have all of the above :D)

Well I haven't got to the garden yet but I have gathered together the receipt pile and will put it in date order as my 'frog' job for tonight. Then I can enter them bit by bit over the next few days. I know my account is OK and I've paid all my bills, so it's just catching up matching YNAB and my account. If I get really really fed up I will just ditch it and start again with the first new paycheque.

After than I'm going to read another Martha Beck again, I think I want to figure out the next step now that I have my vision board up. I love Martha Beck and also Danielle LaPorte, so will look through both of those and pick an exercise I like the sound of.

Speaking of exercise, I got as far as popping into the gym near work today. They do seem very nice and it turns out they have a new women-only suite, so once I know which office I will be spending most time in and where I'll be living, I might think of joining. (It's a 6 month contract, so no point if if I'm going to be elsewhere 4 days a week.) I also want to go swimming but of course my timing is rubbish as it's the school hols :( so the pool will be full of ankle biters for weeks. I might try popping in and asking reception when the quiet times are. Bet they say 6am

I am finding I'm ridiculously happy about the new job - it's so ideal, I get to work with people I already know and like, doing stuff that's interesting and important. I guess I hadn't really dared to think much about if I actually got the job and I'm delighted to find that I think it's exactly what I need right now. :j

Had a lovely phone chat with a fab friend of mine tonight and may be going to see her on the weekend. So all good :) hope everyone else is having a lovely week too.

    Hello Rosa,
I LOVE the idea of blinging up the Vision Board. What a perfect way to really personalise it so we can relate to it easier. Thank you.

Thank you too for updating me on what is transitioning from your Board to your Life. I love reading your updates as they really boost me and my positivity levels too.

Do you have a new job start date?

Good luck with your frog dinner tonight. I think I have the same as I've not done enough in YNAB. You realise frogs are a breakfast item??? Me too, but still haven't done it. Luckily I think I have about 4 updates to make though, so shouldn't be too much of a problem.

    EAT YOUR FROGS people!!!! ;)

MT I can only just cope with mornings as they are, the frogs will have to stay further down the menu :rotfl: . I'll get some receipts YNAB'd tonight.

I don't have a definite start date yet but will hopefully agree one on Monday. Have been looking at houses online and wondering about all the things to balance out... in town/ more space, cheaper now/ needs a bit of work, etc. There is one place I might go and see as it's in what would be a nice location except that the area has been a bit grotty in the past - on the other hand I drove round there the other day and it didn't look too bad. It's well linked to town and next to a very nice area so I think it might be worth considering - the house I'm looking at would need work but I think it's livable-in in the meantime. Anyway I'm sure something will turn up :)

In other vision board news I think I've thought of an excuse to message the lovely man next week so we'll see what happens there.

And yes, everybody bling your vision boards! Our lives should SPARKLE!! :j

OK well small steps... I've got receipts into YNAB up to the end of June, checked and filed all my credit accounts and invoices, and paid a couple of small bills. Will do a bit more tomorrow.

I've been waking up at dawn quite a lot recently, as I'm sleeping better, but not really managing to utilise the time - I've usually had breakfast but then gone back to sleep. This morning I woke up with a weird urge to go swimming. I do want to do this and I've booked a private lesson since I didn't get to half of the classes I paid for last year - but I wasn't yet expecting to turn into the kind of person who is out there when the pool opens  . So anyway I got up, dug out my swimsuit and tried it on, realised it still isn't flattering, ordered another one, and looked up the pool times. So small steps in that direction too. (BTW why does nobody make DD+ swimsuits for actually swimming in? I have a couple of lovely ones that are fine for the spa or the beach but I wouldn't dare wear them for anything properly active in case of disaster!)

I also somehow did most of my chores and went for a walk all before 8am. Bit odd. Then found I didn't need to go to my friend's after all so have been at a bit of a loose end all day... reading and thinking though. Hoping to get a bit of the garden sorted tomorrow.

Well I've been very good this weekend - done all my chores and only spent money on groceries :) .

I've also started thinking about what I need to do to bring my vision board things closer to reality, which was positive in that I've realised they really are all doable... but then got a little anxiety inducing when I started trying to think how to do it all at once :rotfl: . So I have backed off the control freakery again :o and decided to just do things little by little. What Martha Beck calls 'turtle steps' - the task you can feel positive and easy about, no matter how small that is - and I think I'll get my FlyLady timer out again (on the principle of 'you can do anything for 15 minutes').

So I've watered the garden and moved a couple of pots, even though I can't face opening the shed yet; got my 15 minutes Pilates DVD ready; finally got round to copying my music onto the SD card in my phone (bought because it's a much cheaper solution than either a Spotify subscription or a new phone); and tidied away the bag that had all my vision board things in (the spare pics are now in a pretty file and I've kept the magazines and things in case I want to go through them again). Less than 40 minutes, but I feel I've done something :D. I will also try and get some more YNAB receipts done, although I know the reconciliation is going to be a total headache and probably a 15 min blocks task.

Tomorrow I hopefully find out my start date for the new job :j
