Unreasonable and if you are deemed as being unreasonable then you might lose. You chose to buy the car such a long way from home.0 -
Their argument that you didn't notice the problem yourself seems fatuous. Even besides the weather issue, it's winter and it gets dark before the end of the working day, so some people would be collecting in the dark.
If instead the gearbox had fallen apart last week you couldn't have spotted that in advance.
But I'm not sure you can reject the car unless they point blank refuse to rectify it, and even then it will be tedious if they dig in.
I would be asking for records of the work they did, either inspection or repair, before you bought it. They might try talking away the misalignment as though you'd caused it since purchase, but not the colour difference0 -
Do you have the original advertisement ? and how did it describe the car ?Be happy...;)0

I agree. They should rectify this, but i'd say it would be difficult to force a rejection through.
Definitely worthwhile involving Vauxhall / Network Q directly.0 -
Why do you say an email doesn't count?
Because you can't force someone to have eMail.
Hence you can't by default expect someone to reply to one....
If you write a contract that specifically states that correspondence will be through eMail, that's different... but if it doesn't (as the OP's almost certainly doesn't) then they can ignore it as they don't need to reply.
If however they get a letter and do not respond then that is their problem if it comes to court.
Also, this is Small Claims territory.. you could well end up with a magistrate doesn't acknowledge email even exists.
Much SAFER to use post....0 -

They could claim both, what's to say it hasn't been repaired in the time the op has had the car?0 -

As I already said: their records of the work or inspections done.0 -
OP another Question, the previous keepers details, are they a person you could contact who may know the history of this car.
Where i am going with this is if the car was advertised as "excellent condition" remember we are talking a bout a dealer here and it turns out the car has been accident repaired and this was not mentioned by the dealer to the buyer.
Then The sale of goods act does have provisions for this.
As already stated, the bumper is poorly fitted and off colour it would be wise to have a structural inspection to see what else has been bodged up, from a safety reason as well.Be happy...;)0
