Hair cuts - I haven't had my hair cut in over a year (naughty) but I am getting it trimmed in a couple of weeks which will cost me £15.00.

I do recommend epilating though! The kit is expensive to begin with but you get great results after only a couple of times using it and lasts so much longer than shaving.

So my general monthly spend is around £10 from that I guess. Even when taking into account the rest I spend sporadically throughout the year it doesn't add up to much (and I am a girly girl who likes to take care of myself!).

I've not had a cut that cheap since I was 9, who do you go to? £33 is the cheapest I've ever found for a wash, cut and dry off?

I epilate my legs already, just not the erm lady bits. Don't think I could do that to myself. You're very brave! Or i'm a wimp :p. Plus not that flexible neither.

I need a large G&T just to do the ankle bits and near the knee!
Debt free (finally) and saving a deposit for my first home.
  • Couple of paracetemol do the trick pre-epilation ;)

Do you go to local salons or chain ones? My haircuts cost me £20 for wash, layers and fringe, and blow dry, and my longest layer is nearly waist length. Ask around and shop around ;)

I can do the 'front' of my bits and the hairs that grow onto my legs with the epilator, but not the 'underneath' bits! Ouch! I just shave that bit to tidy up.

I'm going to a hairdresser in my local town - he mainly does gents' cuts but does also do women's. It's just a little salon which I guess is why it's so cheap but he does do a good job! Even when going to the 'ladies' salons in my town though it's not too expensive - maybe £20 - £25 for wash/cut/finish.

I live in zone 4 London, and even those local salons charge in excess of £35 for the basics.

I've ended up at supercuts just because they have (so far) shown no interest in getting to know me - which I much prefer.

    That excludes tips too.

My hair is about the same lenght as yours, essentials said they would charge £45 just to blow dry it because it was long. Are they kidding me!

Was the tiniest bit cheaper to have my hair cut when I lived in north london, but the travel costs would negate the saving so not worth it either.

There is no benefit to living in the suburbs of london, everything is just as expensive.

My hair is also waist length, so I guess I must be lucky!

Have you thought about asking at a local beauty college? They often do free/cheap cuts for the students to train, all watched by their tutor so nothing can go (too!) wrong.

I did try, but they wanted times of the day when I'd be working. :(

Ah yes I can see why that'd be a problem!
