I'm afraid and there is a possiblity they are not available any more but I have been using a pack of five disposable razors in the Tesco's Everyday Value range costing 13p. They've been good enough for me and last ages..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

If it really needs to be fushion blades, do you know anyone with a costco card?
The blades were on sale there at the weekend 16 blades for £30, bit more for the power blades, but my oh says they both fit his razor.Mini me due March 2014

Hi, my DH uses Gillette Mach 3 system; the blades are expensive, but not as bad as the Fusion blades. From memory, we paid a little under £18 for a pack of a dozen blades recently.
At least it doesn't require a battery to work, though! DH is of the opinion that a wet shave should not need a battery, and certainly doesn't need its own integral shaving soap!:D
He makes the blade cartridges last quite a long time, though, and only changes them when he's really not getting a proper shave any more.
TeaAndToast I just told him what you said about running it over something like a jeans leg - thanks for that!
He also has a quick "wuzz" at night with an electric shaver, which means he doesn't have so much thick stubble in the mornings (and is nicer to sleep with;)).
When we go on holiday, he takes disposable razors, so that he can just chuck them and not have to bring them home (and of course not risk leaving an expensive piece of kit in the hotel room) but he finds it takes him much longer to shave with those.

My hubby uses and ellectric razor, i use value/smartprice ones on my legs and sometimes he'll use those after the electric razor there not the best but if his hairs already short there fine.DEC GC £463.67/£450

I use Mach3. Fusion blades fit it. So I presume the reverse is true.
Or the real MSE option, which I took up a few months ago. Grow a beard.0 -
lushlifesaver wrote: »Also you need to cost it out over how long the pack of four will last - if they last a month it's £2.50 a week out of budget, if you can get them to last even longer then obviously the cost per unit/cartridge to you goes down
Yeah, I agree with this...I use Mach 3s and the cost is often hard to swallow...but I just wait until there are good offers on and stock up...I only shave every few days, so one of the blades lasts me a couple of months - If you can get them for £1.50ish, that's really not much over time...
(and just to mention that I used to shave exclusively with an electric razor...but the shave was nowhere near as good - and it took *forever*, especially if it had been a couple of days...)0 -
My partner uses Wilkinson Sword disposable blades, think you get 6 in pack. He's at all sorts of fusion blades etc
they far to expensive and the blades magically disappear when a new one comes out.
They really good and cut a close shave without ripping your face off, my partners words not mine!. Think they are about £2.99 or £3.99 a pack, but they last ages. I bought two packs about three months ago from wilko's . He still got a pack left! He always cleans the blade after use and says when he's does this the blade last longer.
Forgot to say he shaves daily and has quite sensitive BUT he likes a close shave.
Thanks for the tip Tea and toast!
Never though a open blade razor was that cheap, my dads used to use an old style one, but over time he got disposables for quickness.0 -
Winkinson Sword disposables were my first choice too and if needs be that is what I will return to."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

We used to bounce around with different types but they seem to be the best, disposable wise. What with different males / womens fusion one.
The cheapest place to buy them is wilko's and sometimes home bargains.0 -
Worth looking out at this time of year as there are often gift packs reduced. I'm still working my way through some packs I got in Asda a while back where they were selling Fusion razors with 8 blades for £5 each. A few sets of those has kept me going since. I shave 6 days out of 7 but use oil rather than foam - mine seem to last me ages before I need to change them.Adventure before Dementia!0
