Dont worry, I have right of centre views on most things and he does the same to me because I'm pro-Europe and pro-immigration from a business and economic perspective.

It's just an internet forum, why put up with having to read garbage from individuals whose clear aim is simply to wind up annoy ? I've got five of them on Ignore now -- three loony left, one loony right, and one just loony. Makes things substantially better -- no doubt they still use my name in vain but as a rule I don't see it !

I've got 25 on ignore! Very few are active posters though.

I suspect it's more a reflection of some posters on this board getting bored of Labour cheerleaders.

Politics is good IMHO, partisan party politics is just dull.

    Labour yay.

    No, Conservatives yay.

    No Lib Dems yay.

    Dull, dull, dull.

Not even sure its Labour cheerleaders. More a very opinionated view of the world. Coupled with a complete lack of understanding of the issue. Where there's only black and white. In reality compromise and majority view rule. Debate is healthy. As it ensures every avenue is explored.

Not active tags perhaps, but these characters often use multi-identities.

Mostly good points and let's be honest, we all know who the party idiots are on here and you're not one of them.

I think if we could discuss honestly held views rather than go for the Tories yay, Labour boo stuff then this board would be even better. If we are going to view the world in a partisan way then I'd rather discuss football. Spurs yay, Ars**al boo.

    You cannot be serious.

If the majority view ruled : we would not be subject to anything like as much EU interference as we are, there would be no human rights farce, victims would always come before criminals, the public sector would be less bloated and wasteful, the NHS would put patients first, road and fuel tax would be spent on the roads, privatised monpolies and cartels would not be allowed to screw us, state education would educate and not socially engineer, bank bonuses would be proportionate and reasonable, planning controls would achieve a sensible balance, and there would be no welfare scroungers living as well as workers on low incomes.

I saw this post because somebody else quoted it. You are not the worst of them, but you really get on my nerves (as I am sure I do you). Putting you on Ignore offers a relief like, say, switching off Eastenders does. You should try it -- with me if you like ;)

Eventually, some posters will have pretty much every contributor but themselves on their ignore list.

They can then live in their own little world, insulated from everyone who might say something to upset them (unless, of course, they begin arguing with and upsetting themselves). This used to be called a padded cell.

It was pretty inevitable that somebody would come up with this one.

But we do have the discernment to distinguish between on the one hand those who post views that conflict with our own, albeit often unintelligent (see above) and illogical in the bargain, and occasionally playing the man and not the ball, and on the other hand the trolls.

One hallmark of the latter -- but not the only criterion -- is the starting up of rubbish threads designed solely to wind up and irritate.

Ultimately majority view does rule. As those in power find themselves deposed. The world is still evolving after several thousand years. Likely to continue to do so for many years to come.
