  • Thankyou Justicia
  • No condensation in the flat, and I keep it well ventilated. The bloke who come around from the council even said it is damp and not condensation.

I use to get ill all time too and clothes smell of damp, I got bronchitis and later in life I got asthma. This sounds bad what you have and council have some responsibility to fix this. Maybe contact your local MP and stress to them you get ill and a baby on the way. Could be damp course gone and wants redoing. Did you say you post some pictures dont worry if links dont work we will amend them here

Can you see any broken guttering outside or cracks in walls where water could get in from the outside? Any drains blocked? with the recent heavy rain is there any water up against the walls?
  • I will try and get you a link for the pictures, I need to make an photobucket account or something first :)
The guttering is 3 stories up, so I wouldn't know about that. No, drains blocked outside. They said it was the air bricks and problem with the walls, but they have covered them months ago and it hasn't fixed the problem.

They shouldn't really cover air bricks unless they are below a water level.

Its not to try and get you to sort things out but just so that the people with experience on here can advise what you can go to EH/council etc about.

I know you are probably at your wits end but I really wouldn't go down the threatening with a newspaper route as that's very confrontational and (bad as though it seems) getting the council/eh back up means they might just ignore you until you decided to take legal action.
  • I can't send the link for the pictures.

  • I have all sorts of different people come around for the damp, also different companies they have sent out. I realised that one now, they haven't replied to my email. I am really at breaking point with this :(
