A mate went onto a website and logged in with a username and password. Now everytime I visit that site I log on as him whether I want to or not. How do I remove his details? As soon as the home page is diaplayed his details are added. I have tried the usual ways of deleting them on ie.
Its the website thats the problem not the brower!
The website recognises your IP address as he obviously ticked the remember me box!
To stop this you need to create a new acount, username and password, then the website will recognise 2 accounts at the same IP and ask you to login to yours!
The other account will still remain but will be dormant!
Strange though that there isnt a delete account facility, as should be the norm in your account profile?
Always pays to not tick boxes, dependant on what they are for?????????Signature removed0 -
there's only a limited number of places where the password can be stored, if you've wiped cookies, and it's ie7 or above passview should reveal it
the fact it does the same in a different browser is very strange, unless it is based on ip address which is highly unusual.!!

The remember me tick box sets a cookie in the browser, it doesn't tell the website to remember the IP address.
Go to www.startpage.com and search for your website. There will be a link underneath it to visit the site via proxy, click that link and see if it happens again.
I've accessed it via startpage.com and the same happens.0 -
