Lloyds TSB Contactless Card

Just a quick question - I've just had a replacement debit card come through (old one was damaged) and it's a much nicer design with a black horse across the middle and white strips at the top and bottom.

I've heard you can get a contactless card by going into the branch and requesting one, does anyone know if this will still work? It's just a standard current account, not a value added one.

I'm not sure if the new design supports contactless yet but you can normally call them up and request one.

According to the Lloyds TSB website (http://www.lloydstsb.com/debit_cards/contactless_debit_cards.asp) it will:

"If you don’t have this new technology on your card but would like to order a new one with it, please visit your local branch who will be able to arrange it for you."

Contactless is not available on the black horse logo card design as yet.

That information is out of date as this related to the Olympic card design.

I went in with this, the branch told me it was only available within London, I then pointed out it didn't mention that and they called up debit cards who spoke to me and said a contactless card would be dispatched within 3 working days...

I have no idea now if I'll receive one!

OK, but how do you know this? Did you ask the bank? There's no mention of the Olympics on that web page.

Pretty sure stclair works at Lloyds but I could be wrong.

Because I asked the bank a while ago.

I have two accounts with lloyds I asked for a replacement card then they sent me old black horse design.

When I queried why my card was not contactless they said they are not availble on the black horse design. Plus the website still says the transaction limit of £15.00 when actually it was increased to £20.00 in June 2012.

However they did say they would be available in Jan 2013. Youll have let us know if you get one.

I'll update this next week - the person on the phone initially said she'd have to check because not all cards could have it - then came back and said mine was a valid account/card and could have contactless added...

Thanks let us know im scared to replace my Olympic design debit card just in case my replacement one is not contactless.
