I've made a mistake on eBay - need help!

I bought this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EMELI-SANDE-Usher-Hall-Standing-Tickets-Monday-1st-April-Edinburgh-/300835248497?pt=UK_Tickets_Tickets_LE&hash=item460b2d9971#rpdId

and I stupidly thought it was for 2 tickets and it says 1. They are due to arrive today.

And now I read that they won't accept returns

Can they do that?

  • Not sure about Ebay Policy but certainly concert tickets ARE NOT covered by the distance selling regulations so there is no legal requirement on the seller to accept a return.

maybe someone better on Ebay policy can help.
if i had known then what i know now

Well I'm not sure how you missed the fact that each BIN was for one ticket. However, a business seller should be allowing returns under the DSRs, so you might want to talk to ebay about it.

Remember though that if you return the ticket is must go special delivery

EDIT: I've seen eaglesrjh response and wasn't aware that tickets are not covered by DSRs, however I think ebay may still require a seller to accept a return and it might be worth a try.

all that means is the seller has a returns policy, the policy is sales are final unless the event is cancelled.

    It says

All sales are final. We regret that we cannot exchange or refund tickets unless the event in question is cancelled. There will be a full refund less P+P costs if an event is cancelled.
