Is this only when using wireless? Does it work OK when connected via an Ethernet cable? If it is a Wireless problem, changing your ISP is a bit silly! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Yes only with the wireless, but as i say, we`ve had that much problems with orange broadband would`nt touch them with a barge pole when my contract is up.0

The major problems Orange have are with the LLU system, I would say if you use the internet a lot and want to have a solid connection, check to see if you will be put on LLU before you sign up, if not then go for it. LLU is the only reason that makes me steer clear of Orange and I work for them lol...
Though even with that advice you can still be migrated to LLU when it becomes availible in your exchange.0 -
Well i had no problems whatsoever until yesterday. For some reason was unable to connect to broadband.
Phoned their CS and after an hour or so managed to get connected.
Twenty minutes later line goes down again phoned CS, after about 40 minutes was told that it was a fault with windows and have to contact them for assistance????????????!
Decided to delete the livebox system on pc and re apply. Could not get Oranges livebox configuration due to a dns fault.
Called orange cs and a very irate and obnoxious assistant told me that the fault was with my pc and to talk to Dell. Just another 40 minutes.
Took pc to shop and was told that i had been fobbed off well and truly.
Called orange cs and asked for line manager, dude managed to pacify me and went through all diagnostics. After and hour the livebox still doesnt work.
Orange said they would do a check on my line to see what the problem was, they said it would take 2 hours.
Called back 2 hours later and told it would take 48 hours, oh yeah business hours so that means Tuesday at the earliest for an idea of when i get my broadband back.
I asked for free dial up and was politely told no.

I've joined Orange BB with the mobile deal, I rec my livebox on Monday and phoned to find out when I would get connected as Eclipse cut me off at lunchtime and was told it would be 4/5, I phoned back and was told it would be midnight. I could not connect it so phoned cs and was told I had to have an ethernet connection on my pc, which I did not have. I know people on here have connected via a usb connection, so I kept messing with it.
On 4/5 I phoned cs again and was told I could connect via usb as the lad I was talking to had is connected that way. I had another go and got no where, so phoned cs again, the lad went thro some checks but cos on my network connections page was blank, he gave up on me as he was not trained on usb connections. I decided that as I had installed and uninstalled the Orange CD that many times I would do a system restore to before my Eclipse connection was cut off. This time I managed to get connected and got as far as entering my username and password, I phoned sc again and this time the guy got me up and running. So far the connection has not dropped and downloading seems as good as before, so on the whole, I'm just waiting for the talk part to be set up.
I'm well chuffed as I got a 12 month free mobile and free bb, well £5 a month cos of the livebox. By the way, if Orange are promoting a wireless router, why don't they give you a wireless adaptor so you can go wireless?0 -
Glad you got it going my neighbour has been on same package as you for a while and has had no end of problems getting support when is line constantly drops and was even told by an Orange agent "What do you expect it's free" now thats what i call first class customer support lol, so be prepared in the future if you have any problems, with some luck im sure you won't.

Hi am new here, please forgive the long winded rant!
All I can say is please, please FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SANITY, do not sign up with Orange broadband. I am an Orange pay monthly customer and I decided the offer of unlimited broadband for a fiver seemed like good value. More fool me! I upgraded my package to the £30 one (so I thought!) which is the mininum contract you can be on to qualify for the offer and agreed to pay the £35 for the mobile and broadband. I was told that it would take ten days for my equipment to arrive. For some reason, (though I cannot remember why, all calls have now blurred into each other!) I rang the mobile line and was told that I was on the £35 contract and still had to pay the £5 extra. I asked to be put on the £30 one as this is what I had asked for and they said I couldn't downgrade as am only in first three months of contract. I decided just to leave it as wasnt worth the hassel for the sake of a fiver.
I waited just over a week for my broadband gear to arrive and decided to phone them. I was told that no order had been placed, they said they would sort it out immediately and send it out within 3-5 working days. I waited and funnily enough it didn't turn up.
Well, to cut an (already) long story short, 8 WEEKS down the line, at least 30 calls later, I still have no broadband equipment. I have been told on 5 separate occasions that no order has been placed and each time been told that they would sort it out and send it out within 3-5 days.
Finally I gave up and cancelled it. I asked to speak to complaints, the "customer services assistant" said he would transfer me and was cut off, (not for the first time, I hasten to add!). The following day they called me and had the audacity to say that I would have to pay a cancellation fee!
By this time I had lost the will to live and unfortunately lost my temper and told them they would have an 'F-ing' lawsuit on their hands. I then tried to sign up with Sky. Quelle suprise, there was a tag on the line (for those who dont know, this is something used by companies to prevent you taking out broadband with a competitor.) I told Orange to remove it and they said I would have to call BT. This I did and they said they would do it, though could take ten days. I called back yesterday and BT said they couldnt remove said tag as it was 'active' not 'dormant'. I called Orange and was told that they would take ten days to remove it.
As you can probably appreciate, I am at my wits end. Not only do I have no broadband, I have no hope of getting it in the near future as Orange will no doubt 'lose' my request to get the tag removed.
Can anyone tell me how to go about cancelling my mobile contract, do other companies buy them out, what about the phone etc? Also anyone have Sky broadband? What they like?
Hope this has helped you in your decision, njtkc0 -

have been online for over a month(so for broadband been ok) but have still got no live talk. been passed from 1 dept to another given numerous deadlines, promises etc, but nothing am currently in process of trying to get itemised billing from bt to claim back all calls that should have been free or cheaper using orange(lady on cs told me i was entitled to this) and am looking at ways of cancelling the 12 month contract i agreed to as they are not providing the service i signed upto(breach of contract etc)Lead us not into temptation...
