I'm thinking of using them as they have a free service with a new mobile phone contract. Is this a good or bad move !!!!!!
I have no idea how to judge these things.........
They give up to a 2mb download monthly How do I know how much I use?
Is there anyway I can check, My current ISP can't seem to tell me, Why?

I have been with orange well what was wanadoo for over 3 years. Since they changed their name from wanadoo to orange they are absolutely rubbish!! i constantley get cut off and despite the fact i pay for the service ( dont get it free!!) They have put me on LLU which despite the fact i pay for 8mbs i only get 2mbs, prior to them putting me on LLU i was getting 8mbs!!. i am now gladely out of contract and will probabely be joining virgine media.
So my advice in short DO NOt go with orange!!!0 -
We had Wanadoo then when Orange bought them out nothing changed until I saw the package with the mobile phone contract. 500 Min's, free broadband unlimited calls to your magic number all in all I must say it works quite well. There were problems with the Internet going down at first but now its fine. When we did have problems it meant a call to customer services (150 free from your mobile) the call go's to India but they are very helpful and knowledgeable. We just had to configure or reboot the livebox we had to do often at first but I must say its been fine since Christmas. It might depend on where you live it might depend on what you use your computer for but I am sat here now using my laptop wirelessly with no problems. Having said that it was a pig to set the wireless up we had to go into the security settings and change the Set up number before it would go wireless, fortunately for me my friend is a wizz on computers so he did it I would of never have known what to do in a million years. So all in all I find it OK and with package from orange £35 a month for phone and broadband quite reasonable as well.
hope this helps

I'm having no end of problems with Orange.:mad: My bb connection drops for hours and sometimes a couple of days every month or so. :mad:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

I have no problems with Orange whatsoever, and love the orange Wednesdays! DS or I use it to make the pictures an affordable treat. I have no Orange mobile, and I pay £14.99 pcm for BB.0

I have been with Freeserve > Wanadoo > Orange for years and never had a connection problem. I now get it free as I have moved my mobile contract to them.
Currently run 2 pc's and a laptop on it.I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
I harp on about this all the time, but Orange are really bad. I had so much trouble with them they actually paid me compensation for having service off and on for 7 months. Keep away from them at all cost as the customer service is terrible and you can't understand a word they are saying as they have foreign call centres. I have gone to BT Broadband and not had any problems at all and they are really helpful.0

I have been with Orange for about 6 months now and the actual broadband service has been good with the exception of one occasion where I lost service for about 2 weeks. It turned out that this was caused by an equipment failure at the local exchange, so not an Orange problem, but I did get to experience Orange's technical support, and I wasn't really impressed. The overseas call centres weren't really helpful and they didn't keep me informed as to what was going on so I had to keep calling them. Everytime I did, and I got through to an overseas call centre, they went through the standard checklist everytime, i.e. check the wireless, reboot it, etc..... Eventually they arranged for BT to come out and check my line and it got sorted within days. Shame they couldn't sort it any quicker.
Overall, I am very happy with the actual broadband service (quick downloads, reliable, but not impressed with the Customer Service when I have used it to sort out the one and only problem.
You have to remember a company of this size is bound to have customers who will have problems, although I am trying to let them off not sorting those out!!0 -
We`re with orange and as soon as contract is up i`m going else where. The only time i`ve had my laptop online is for 10mins a couple of times, it just won`t connect. My sister uses her laptop for internet and even when she brought hers to my house she could`nt get online.
We call the Livebox the Deadbox for reasons everyone else has said, mind you we don`t bother ringing orange up now when we have probs - we just shake the orange box! fetches it back to life.
