The majority of posts we get on here are for Supermarkets, Retail Outlets, and Fast Food Places. Maybe you should check some stats on numbers of car parks.Jamie_Carter wrote: »It will if supermarket customers vote with their feet
Most supermarkets have been using PPCs for donkey's years, what makes you think it'll make a difference now?Jamie_Carter wrote: »Of course not. And I have never implied that I did.
Apart from questioning over and over why people bother to complain when they receive fake fines. So you don't agree with them being issued, but you can't understand it when people complain when they do?Jamie_Carter wrote: »Do yourself a favour, and read my posts properly.

I think you've missed the point the OP made. It appears the car park is free one, albeit one where you're supposed to "prove" that you're a customer by entering your registration into a machine in the shop. How, therefore, was the OP supposed to pay the £0.00 charge for parking there after hours?
If this had been a pay and display car park where there was a charge for parking, and more crucially a machine which would enable the motorist to actually pay the fee, then you might have had a point.
So it looks like the car park is ONLY free for customers. So the OP had no right to use it, unless there was a pay and display option.0 -
And what should his punishment be then?Je Suis Cecil.0

I don't know WHY you are arguing.Thought I would hang outfit half an hour at a 24 hour fast food joint. Hoping my wife would wake. I parked in car park because it was next door and no one was there and it was out of hours. The majority of posts we get on here are for Supermarkets, Retail Outlets, and Fast Food Places. So you decided as 'the forum police', that we can only discuss carparks for retail and food outlets????
No I'm not going to check stats, because I have a life, and I'm not that sad. And it doesn't really matter anyway (except to you). Most supermarkets have been using PPCs for donkey's years, what makes you think it'll make a difference now?
If it was the huge problem that you make it out to be, then customers would get fed up and use other supermarkets. I have actually heard of quite a few people who have stopped using Asda, because of the dirty tricks used by the car park management company. If all those people actually complained to Asda, then I'm sure they would make changes.Apart from questioning over and over why people bother to complain when they receive fake fines. So you don't agree with them being issued, but you can't understand it when people complain when they do?
Personally I think there should be some way to deter people who just think they can do what they want, and get away with it (these are the people who I question). Although I do think that it should be in proportion to the actual parking fees, and not the stupid amounts that they try to charge now.
If you owned a car park, and people just effectively stuck two fingers up to you, and did what they want, because they know that they can get away with it, then how would you feel?I have, thanks. You're talking bobbins.
No, you obviously haven't read posts properly. In fact you obviously didn't even read the whole of the first post, because you thought the fast food place was closed.0 -

Again, what losses have Aldi suffered at 2 in the morning and what do you think his punishment should be for parking where and when he did?Je Suis Cecil.0 -

Yes I know...the OP either contradicted themselves, or the car park was for Aldi and a 24 hour fast food place.
It's a bit like saying that on a late night bus that has very few passengers, if one person doesn't pay their fare, then the bus company hasn't suffered any loss, because that person might not have got on the bus.
So I suppose the punishment should be a normal parking fee, plus enough to deter people from using the car park without using the store or paying.0 -

Remember whan I asked you to go and find out what a legally unenforceable contract penalty was?
It was a free car park, there was no pay and dislay mentioned.
He hasn't diddled Aldi out of any lost business as they were shut.
Your bus analogy doesn't make sense in the context of what has happened here.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Manx, remember the old advice about not feeding trolls? Best applied here.0
