parking eye charging at 2 am in morningh

It was my birthday yesterday and after opening cards I had also recievied a letter from parking stating I owe 70 pounds or 40 pounds if I pay by 18th January! Most frustrating thing is it was at 2 o'clock in morning when I had been locked out of house. Thought I would hang outfit half an hour at a 24 hour fast food joint. Hoping my wife would wake. I parked in car park because it was next door and no one was there and it was out of hours. My friend suggested to park there as she had done numerous times and never recieved a parking ticket.
Now I have a letter from parking eye and I don't want to pay. Frankly I think I don't. Do I? Will I get into a sticky situation? Do I ignore it? My wife says i should ring up and explain I couldn't register car at Aldi on the car registration Computer thing because it was closed at 2 in the morning! Aghhh so annoying. I just don't want to waste my breathe. They already ruined my birthday! Help. Can they do any thing?

It's safe to ignore, it's just a scam!0

They must be getting desperate to work at that time of day, as usual ignore the blighters, don't let them ruin a thing, they are not worth it.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Have a happy birthday....just ignore them and get on with life.:footie:

Relax and file these threatogramms under BIN,they havent ruined your birthday and you certainly DONT owe them anything, not sure how you appeal through this "popla" process but as i understand through the many posts on this forum it costs these parking companies some £30 to process these appeals and still it makes no difference to what you do next cos its still safe to ignore even after the appeal...so make THEM pay!
Ive got a great picture of how to exit one of thier "controlled" car parks but over to some knowledgeable experienced poster to tell me how to up/download so i can post it?
Slight dissapointment though as ole P.E only sent me the one beggin letter and that was over 5 months ago now, cheeky sods asked me for £90...I was going to be playful with them and send them the money in Monopoly currency,They dont scare me and nor should they scare anyone....the scumbags!!!!.Payments to P.E so far= £1.00 and thats only cos me girl insisted that we put a pound in the pay and display machine...im gutted that they've had a quid outta me!! Will post picture as soon as I know how to do it....Happy birthday0 -
They use ANPR technology.
Courts have rules over admissibility of ANPR and will only allow devices approved as a statutory instrument as evidence in a court of law.
As parking eye are only a tin pot company, they know this, so all they can do is use it to threaten you with.
So as above
IGNORE THEM.Be happy...;)0 -
I'd be more worried about my wife locking me out of the house and being parked up in a car park, with a female friend, at 2 a.m.!0

Next time it might be worth looking at the times diplayed on the notice board that shows when they charge.0

If the business is closed at 2am why would that matter? They were incurring no loss of business as a result of the OP parking there.Je Suis Cecil.0
