Shame they have to send out the passkey in the post if you want to view it online, I was going to look at my record thinking the passkey would be emailed to me and have access instantly.
If you have to wait for the passkey in the post, what's the point in viewing it online you may aswell just ask for a copy of the report via post!?

    Seems daft to me

Same thought. If Equifax can do it - why can't experian?

Its not as if they don't ask enough questions - and you are paying with one of your credit file cards.

Just tried to order my £2 file too. Inputted all my details and got same error right at the end.

Taking a long time to fix. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a scam to push you towards the credit expert monthly fee rubbish.
I would be surprised if it wasn't a scam to push you to the FREE TRIAL. Which works perfectly well funnily enough. As with most of these things many people will simply forget to cancel. Which is as you know their aim.

Pretty scummy really. I get to check my equifax report for free but only recently found out a friend had a settled account (never defaulted) showing as a default on Experian that wasn't even listed on Equifax.

Just tried to order another report. I didn't get an error message or anything saying it had been successful. Just a whole lot of nothing. I was reluctant to try again as I thought I may well have been charged already. I will have a look online in a couple of days to see if I have been charged.

Seems this has been going on far to long with this company to be accidental. I know it must cheese them off having to sell it for £2.00 when their main business is getting you to pay £14.00 a month for it with bells on but that is the law.

Over a year later and no improvement. The same Java error and passkey sent in post. Advertised by MSE as an online service which it is not so may as well wait 10 days for postal service.
    Pathetic.
  • still going on

    tried this morning

first time request not accepted card has been debited

tried again accepted this time but have to wait for emails

laughable, pathetic and after reading this thread a scam
  • I recently joined experian to view my credit report. I joined mid May 2014.....since then I enter all my passwords etc correctly and it tells me please try again! Apparently it is a known fault and one which is ongoing?!
  • Both Experian and Equifax seem to do anything they can to make it difficult for users to obtain and access their statutory credit reports.

Equifax allow you to register, once you find the rather hidden away statutory report option, but you are unable to generate the report yourself. You have to call them up and get them to generate the report.

Experian don't even list the statutory report option but it does come up in a google search. Then you complete the foirm and you have the problems mentioned. I tried in three browsers. I complained and got told if it doesn't work next time please complete a paper application form and post it to us. So I tried online over four times and now I have to complete the paper form and post it. Any trick in the book to 'encourage' you to take one of their monthly subscription services.

Both businesses are unethical in their behaviour in providing a statutory report. They should be investigated by the powers to be.
  • I tried to request my £2 statutory report after previously paying £14.99 a month to these con merchants and despite Equifax being able to provide your report instantly it seems like this lot do everything in their power to try to stop you from getting your statutory report. I filled in all the details and received a reply asking me to send 2 ORIGINAL utility bills and a copy of my passport to verify my identity despite me previously having a Credit Expert "membership" ?? I then told them to forget it and refund my £2 which they REFUSED to do!
What a load of old s**t! they are clearly at it and this company needs to be investigated by the relevant people! they are a DISGRACE!

Gosh this is an old thread, I found it while googling help for experian problems. It seems that over 3 years later the same problems are occuring? I can not view it online without a postal pass key and my card has been debited but error code on the screen state my request can not be processed. The call centre can't help unless I sign up, and no email reply as yet. Yet credit call and equifax can do it in seconds.

I order mine periodically to keep a check on its accuracy, it would be very frustrating if I really needed to view it.
