Yesterday I received a letter from Orange stating that the 2nd line service will no longer be available from 27th March and they obviously have looked at my account as it states I call South Africa. They are offering me the £20 deal + a new Brightbox router or stay with Orange for just BB for the £5.11 I already pay. On the back page it state you can have Line Rental Saver by paying your line rental yearly upfront and so save £3 per month.

DON'T FORGET THE 2ND LINE ENDS ON 27TH MARCH, so unplug your phone from the Livebox or you will be charged for your calls.

I have just signed up for the deal offered to 2nd line customers, £17 a month and a new router.

You will get 500 mins to any mobiles not just Orange with this deal. The £20 cost includes line rental, or £17 if you pay the line rental upfront, so although you say it is 4 times more than you are already paying, you must also be paying an extra £15.45 line rental to BT, or £10.75 if you pay the line rental upfront.

My new Orange service started in late Feb, following the transfer of my BT line to them. I've had a few issues with billing though - initially I was being charged for 'free' calls included in my new plan, however a credit was subsequently added to my account when I phoned about this. Then I received my first bill which included charges in arrears from my go live date and my billing date (about 5 days). I was expecting this to be in region of £2.70 (based on 5 days x £20 less the £5.11 I had already paid for my broadband for the month). However the cost for these 5 days was over £8. I have asked Orange for an explanation, but they can't provide one.

I also asked asked Orange about the pay up front offer, which was in letter they sent me - however no one in their billing team had any knowledge of the offer!

Has anyone fared any better with their move, or can anyone suggest who I could speak to at Orange to get a response from - I have phoned on a couple of occasions and not found anyone who can help me.

I was told yesterday that my first payment would be £138 and then £6 for the remaining 11 months, so I will keep a check on any extra charges.

Thats the deal I was after, and was included in their letter to me, but no one in their Customer Services Team and Billing Teams is aware. Do you know which department/section you spoke to?

I phoned on Monday this week on 0800 197 9642 the number on the letter. You could try calling them back now to see if you call still pay upfront. Elsewhere on here an existing customer also got offered this deal from the retention team, whereas I was told it was only for the 2nd line customers.

My line was transferred from BT to Orange on 22/4, but on my Orange statement 1/5, my transfer to the new package is 5/4 and they did not put on the Line Rental Saver. I have spoken to CS today who said the amendment would be put on next month's statement. I think 5/4 was when then sent the new Brightbox.
