Mind you, you don't know what meat you are eating when you go to some ethnic restaurants. That is the problem of letting meat in from outside our country.
The main reason why I don't do cheap pub grub or buy meat from the supermarkets, only from independant pubs with listings of where they buy their produce from , or the farm Butchers where I see my meat grazing on the land. Quite easy when you get to think about things. There is a reason why things like these burgers are so cheap.
Why is none EU so much of a worry?
Just because it tells you were the animal is reared, does not mean it has to come from there if you have corrupt staff.
Not read the news but I doubt they hav finished the investigation of were the meat came from? so hold your horse before jumping to conclusion.
If its a own label product. Tesco will have to have approved the meat supplier for use, so they will have been to check the site. Wether they checked it well enough, or some quality process have not been done on a day to day basis. We do not know yet.
If could be as much as some corrupt people who have have killed horse and farms and sold it on the cheap etc. There have been stories of animals been stolen from farms in the Uk and ireland. These can end up in local resturants as small indepedants do not have resource to profressionaly audit there suppliers.0 -
