Adds a whole new meaning to the saying 'I could eat a horse'.
Now all you need to do is pop into Tesco and buy some burgers, every little helps.:D0 -
I am not sure how often trading standards check.
I wonder if they were tipped off?
As it will not be cheap to look for Horse DNA.
Not sure if they tested for a variety of DNA0 -
Every single frozen burger, regardless of type or brand, had been removed from my local big Tesco earlier today. Annoying as I wanted to buy some! Don't care if it's horse as the 'finest' ones are quite nice and half price at the moment ;-)0

The most worrying thing though is that the manufacturers have not checked the authenticity of where they are getting their meat from. The fact that they have gone outside the EU for it, should ring some bells.
Mind you, you don't know what meat you are eating when you go to some ethnic restaurants. That is the problem of letting meat in from outside our country.
The main reason why I don't do cheap pub grub or buy meat from the supermarkets, only from independant pubs with listings of where they buy their produce from , or the farm Butchers where I see my meat grazing on the land. Quite easy when you get to think about things. There is a reason why things like these burgers are so cheap.0 -
I don't eat burgers from supermarkets anyway, they maybe low in fat but they are very high in shergar....Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

I bought some burgers from Lidl, odds on they're the ones with horse in just my luck to get saddled with the dodgy ones, I'm going to have to rein in my galloping desire to buy cheap cuts from now on. Still no good closing the stable door after the burger has bolted is it?

Say what you want about Tesco's but sales of their burgers remain stable.
I feel sorry for the Tesco bosses who have a gambling problem, they've lost £300m on the horses in 24 hours0 -
