My oldest is like that, went off supermarket wetfood so started getting James Wellbeloved, he eventually went off that too. He now eats Purina One Indoor wetfood. I'm dreading the day he goes off that tooHe'll only eat around a 1/4 of a pouch on a morning and night aswell. The kitten, however, will eat anything and will eat as much as he can until he's full.
On a similar note has anyone any thoughts on Bozita dry food? I've looked at the ingredients but to be honest it means nothing to me. Until recently I actually thought ash meant literally ash, had visions of them shovelling ash in0 -
My two remaining cats refuse to eat it. The oldies loved the Reindeer one best, but I've donated the rest of my stock to the PDSA since Meep went (although it took me until this morning to actually do it - and even then, I made somebody else take it in for me).
The two twits prefer crunchies. At the moment, they're mad on Royal Canin Maine Coon Mix, but I'm aiming to replace that with something better next time round.
I wasn't planning on switching them over, but when they aren't eating crunchies, they get little tasty snacks, such as the trimmings off a piece of meat (reindeer has been the most popular, ironically, but any food preparation means two silent sentinels watching me until they've had their bit), fish, prawns hidden around the front room to sniff out, bits of egg, that kind of thing.
I suppose a pouch of mush doesn't hold the same appeal after that, like takeaways compared to proper meat and fish.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I swapped my two from whiskers to bozita and they really enjoy it. They were always hungry before but I feed less now then I did and they seem to be a lot more satisfied. I buy in bulk from zooplus, but if you want to get a sample selection before you buy loads try an ebay seller called mbsmylee (no affiliation, just a satisfied customer) - they sell at a reasonable price and you can get 1 of each flavour to see what the cats'll eat.

None of my 4 liked Bozita.
They liked Animonda for a while but then ALL of them went off it completely.
Been happy on Butchers Classic for a while now...Hmmm0 -
The Bozita tins are better quality and value than the tetra-packs, and seem a fairly popular food choice with a lot of cats. It is a dense meaty pate which is a different texture from most supermarket foods but it means there are no junky fillers. Animonda Carny tins are a similar product. If you look at the 'per 100g' price of various foods on Zooplus you will see that actually they are not pricey at all and in fact work out as very good value....certainly compared to any of the stupidly over priced mini tins of supposedly posh stuff....which is not even 'complete' food in most cases!
The Bozita dry food is pretty poor quality and best avoided IMO.0 -
what's the "best" dry food would you say in your opinion? I was going to get a 2kg kitten bag for them but have read the wet is better than dry. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

Our cat developed chronic constipation because he only ate dry food for most of his life (he's 13 now), and he didn't drink water.
I've known other cases like this, so I wouldn't recommend to feed a cat only with dry food, unless you make sure they are drinking enough (which can be difficult).
At the moment he has dry food available (can't remember the brand, some organic one with high meat content), and gets wet food twice a day.0 -
my cat doesn't like it, and like ljonski I have a load of it just sitting there. I'm trying to palm it off on family with limited success, so it's probably going to go the rescue home I got Rupes from.
butchers is a popular recommendation but it made mine badly constipatedEmergency savings: 4600

Cats! Most are just very fussy on what they eat. From experience best food for my Exotics was Royal Canin Persian 30. At least I know when they eat this they are getting everything they need, you can tell just from the feel of their coats that it is a good quality product. I was also told by a vet that the dry foods are better for cats teeth to keep them healthy. I do supplement with wet cat foods but have found it difficult to find anything that is acceptable to Mr Cat. He mainly licks off the gravy or jelly and leaves the lumps! Whereas with the dry Royal Canin everything goes with no waste.0

I feed our cats Royal Canin, indoor 27 and the kitten varieties, although they eat each others at times. Never had any problems with it, I just leave a bowl of each out for them to graze on during the day and then they have wet food for breakfast and tea.
We had a couple of bowls of water down stairs and have found our kitten licking the condesation off the landing window some mornings so we also put one upstairs too.... still find him licking windows though0
