Is it exempt from the 30day guarantee?, if so then they don't have to take it back until its faulty.
Not true - the goods need to be of 'satisfactory quality'. The SoGA states this takes into account "the standard that a reasonable person would regard as satisfactory ... any description of the goods, the price (if relevant) and all the other relevant circumstances"
This is all very subjective, and it is down to the OP to demonstrate that the item is not of satisfactory quality.0 -
If its under six months old the retailers has to prove it isn’t, after you have to (unlike the rest of Europe who get a 2 year warrenty).Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

The only thing substantially different between our SOGA and the EU directive is that the SOGA goes further, in fact you could say we potentially have a 6 year warranty.0 -

this i would say is a fault as does not hold battery charge and an unresponsive screen
On the Argos site displaying on all tablets is this statementPlease note that this product is excluded from our 30 Day Money Back Guarantee. This does not affect your statutory rights.0 -

Actually, that would say that it isn't a very good tablet compared to some, doesn't necessarily equate to it being faulty, hence why we've asked for the make of tablet.
I second this. If it's a £70 tablet, it's probably not faulty, especially if reviews echo the OP's problem. There are reasons that iPads are £500 and own branded basic Android tablets are sub £100, and these reasons are usually in the form of speed, battery life and touch screen responsiveness.
As said above, the make and model are key to the argument.0 -

true for batt life as their basic touchpad only states Up to 4 hours battery life
but you should not have an unresponsive screen, but with the 30 day exempt they could replace if they take your word thats its faulty although this depends on what member of staff your get or how busy the store is when you take it back, as some will replace and others will send it for repair.0 -

not always i have a £80 tablet and a £400 ipad and the £80 tab holds power longer than my ipad and is more responsive0
