Makes you wonder what they'll call fibre optic when it is actually the true delivery method (called FTTP). The current system retains the weakest link, the local loop - so whilst it might be a little closer to you, isn't fibre.

As the old saying goes, a chain is only as good as its weakest ink. That just happens to be your bit of it!

Whilst I understand what your saying about FTTC, Buzby, I'm not complaining as my BT BB line jumped from 6.5Mbps to 57!

As an aside - on our street we have no new cabinet and no sticker on the old one either. Anyone any ideas on on why?

The website is saying that im not eligible for talk packages which is strange. Either way, Plusnet off half prie for a year while Sky is only 3 months.

And i can get £35 cashback from PlusNet through Quidco.

Plusnet fibre is only half price for 6 months, the regular BB is half price for a year.

Also, Topcashback are offering £70 at the moment.

Your line actually comes from a different cabinet.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

OM, There are no new cabs in my area, anywhere. And I even know where the main fibre cable in my area comes from, which is all the way down the pavement of a very long dual carriageway. Which encompasses another area, from the exchange. Which is 1.3 miles from where I live. And there are no new cabs in either area. Anywhere. And believe me, I've looked. Bizarre or what?
