Closed Thread

Just a quick thank you to all of you that posted on my previous thread that has now, thank goodness been closed.

I am sorry I was not around to answer the questions and feel sorry it dissolved into the mess it did.

A particular thank you to Valli and Meritatin, your advice was as usual very good.

I will not be posted any more on the subject.

Could we have a private message thread as l for one would like to be kept updated?

It wasn't your fault one or two people couldn't stop hurling abuse and accusations at others.

    Happy moneysaving all.

I hope it got resolved and your anonymity remains intact:D

How were you to know your conundrum would end up in the weekly email?

But once it did, it wasn't rocket science to know that a second thread on the same subject wasn't a great idea.

:T OP. Am sooooo glad that after 44 vicious and unpleasant posts about a colleague, you have finally decided to knock it on the head (at the point where it was discovered that posters could identify you and your company in less than 10 minutes using google based on the info you have already posted on the forum). A very "honourable" decision to take, I am sure motivated by a desire to do the right thing in life with no element of self preservation there at all

considering the reason behind the threads (a dishonest colleague) the most unpleasant abuse was from those sticking up for the thief!

Really? I read the last few pages of that thread and you were right in there with the unpleasantness aimed at Boots. Wasn't it you who described him as psychotic and first opened the whole attack on his mental health? I'd describe that as as unpleasant and abusive as it gets personally.

Perhaps you should have read back a bit more Nicki. Boots was being very unpleasant and I was about to report him for abuse when something about his style struck me.
So I asked if he had a psychotic illness!(Dont try to rewrite my posts and say I accused him, as others know that I didnt!). He actually confirmed that he has and spouted more vitriol. I personally, know a couple of people suffering psychotic illness and therefore I didnt post any more as was considering contacting the forum team and asking them to assess Boots' posts on this and other threads. I wish I had now but decided to leave it. Boots can post to his hearts content - I no longer see it!

Actually it made unpleasant reading from many parties. You might have been one of them, you might not have.

That wasn't how your post came across to me and I suspect Boots meritaten even if it was your intention. Perhaps the way it came across was coloured though by the fact that you had said in the post before that one:
Perhaps you would be happier if you took yourself off and found a forum where no-one posted about work problems with colleagues? I would certainly be happier if you did!

Either way, my point is that you are re-writing history by saying that the most unpleasant abuse was from those sticking up for the thief, as the thread ended in a disgraceful spectacle where a large number of posters (of which you at least appeared to be one) hurled disgusting abuse at one specific poster (who was also not blame-free but more vulnerable than those who chose to abuse him)
