No I never ASUME my spelling is corecect. In fact I know my spelling is unlikely to be correct as I have struggled with my spelling since childhood.I suspect that I have dslexia that went undiagnosed. However I fail to see what that has to do with this. When I am doing something the requires my spelling to be perfect (i.e NOT an Internet fourm)like my c.v then I make sure it is all correct before sending it.0 -
I've just done a search for Samsung Kies and came upon this thread. I didn't realise that some people could be so sarcastic when someone is simply asking advice for something.
I've turned 70 and have just got my first smart phone, a Galaxy Ace. I'm having to Google a lot because the manual isn't very good and some of the instructions are beyond an old lady like me.
I shall think twice about coming onto this website for advice, I don't want to be sneered at !!
In all fairness though, if you're googling the basics....I very much doubt you're worrying about how to get skype on your phone (possibly might not even know what it is or that you can get it on your phone) or worrying about a front and rear facing camera.
But as a new smart phone user......the first piece of advice i'd give is to make sure you dont allow programs access to the internet indefinitely/without asking permission. Its less likely to happen in the UK but that (programs connecting to the internet, updating themselves etc) is what caused lots of people to come home from abroad to bills from their network operators for hundreds/thousands of pounds. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
