Your phone is Skype enabled
What you whinging about? Do you HAVE to see to be able to speak? Seems we coped all this years with land lines making calls without the need to see who we are talking to
What a ridiculous argument! By that reckoning, does the phone have to make calls as for years we coped with writing letters.0 -
To assume makes an !!! out of you and...
...no wait, I wouldn't assume any Android phone can video call.
My car has a speedo that goes to 150MPH, I didn't read the specs but I'm annoyed it won't go that fast.0 -
So unlike the bickering idiots on here i'll try to be useful to the OP.
I'm guessing your mentioning the front-facing camera due to this quote from the Skype product description on Google Play:Due to Android restrictions, devices running Android 2.2 will only be able to use the rear-facing camera. Devices with Android 2.3 or higher will be able to use both front and rear-facing cameras.
Galaxy Ace comes with 2.2 out of the box, it can be updated to Android 2.3 using Samsung Kies.
Install the tool, plugin your phone via USB and check for a update, it should (in theory) find 2.3 to download and update your phone. Be warned though, it may wipe data on your phone so make sure you've got a copy of anything important on the phone.0 -
I didn't know installing an app would magically create a front facing camera? So unlike the bickering idiots on here i'll try to be useful to the OP.

Why has this been posted in 'Consumer Rights'?
I suppose if we had a "Yet more moaning for no justified reason" section, it'd be better suited there.0 -
Skype is a lot more than video calling. Your phone will support Skype phone calls and texts, so why not use them? Warning: check your data allowance: just because your phone supports skype, it doesn't mean your network will, nor does it mean you have a data allowance sufficient to allow it.0

I've just done a search for Samsung Kies and came upon this thread. I didn't realise that some people could be so sarcastic when someone is simply asking advice for something.
I've turned 70 and have just got my first smart phone, a Galaxy Ace. I'm having to Google a lot because the manual isn't very good and some of the instructions are beyond an old lady like me.
I shall think twice about coming onto this website for advice, I don't want to be sneered at !!0 -
