Jet2 baggage allowance help.

Hi everyone, I'm going away for 3 days in August and haven't travelled abroad for a long time!
I am travelling with jet 2 with a hand baggage allowance of 10kg,which should be fine as I will travel light!
My question is however, am I allowed to also bring a handbag with purse phone ereader etc in or is this an extra piece of baggage?
I'm sorry if I sound dumb, but I can't find the answer on jet2's website and was hoping someone on here may know?
Thanks in advance
Vicky

One piece of cabin baggage with jet2 is the allowance, which if the crew are being stipulative about, will mean that your purse and anything else will have to fit inside it.

Thanks for the reply, my friend has told me when she booked the lady on the phone said as long as the bag size is right they're not fussed on the weight, but on the website it clearly states 10k!
If I turn up and my hand luggage is over am I going to be hit with a hefty fine do you think?0 -
One piece means one piece, not one piece and a handbag so the handbag will need to fit inside the one piece of hand baggage.
If your hand baggage weighs over 10kgs they will have the right to ask you to check it in and pay the fee for hold baggage. They won't "fine" you.
I have only travelled with them twice and the hand baggage wasn't weighed.0 -
It's indeed rare for hand baggage to be weighed. However, the rules are clear, and it's up to you if you decided to chance it with an overweight bag.0

Ryanair were weighing hand baggage at Liverpool last time I flew with them.0

Jet2 tends not to be as strict as Ryanair. They do have a luggage gauge, but you are unlikely to have to put your case in it if it looks a reasonable size.0

Yes, I agree, it is unusual. I have never had mine weighed before and they have probably seen me struggle with my bag from miles away. I think its mainly due to putting them in the overhead locker and keep the weight down on the plane but I dont think they really police it as such most of the time. But if they wanted to, I suppose they could say something.Happy0 -
Ryanair and Jet2 are two completely different kettles of fish.
Ryanair's cabin bag allowance is only a little bigger than an attache case, - and they WILL make you fit it into their cardboard 'sizer' at the gate, and if it doesn't freely fit (no squashing allowed) then it has to go in the hold for a charge of about £50.0 -

They don't seem to be consistent...0 -
