I haven't said that at all.
I'm just asking you what is DEFINATELY at risk, and you can't really tell us without callign us idiots or ninny's.
You won't answer the questions. That in itself says it all. When called upon, you tried to make out Honda will definately leave, but right after your quote it said "dependant on what's agreed".0 -

It's DEFINITELY all at risk.
Whether that risk turns into reality depends on a lot of things.
For example, the most probable outcome is that there will never be a referendum, and the UK will stay in the EU.
Hence there would then be little to no risk of losing these businesses from the UK.You won't answer the questions. That in itself says it all. When called upon, you tried to make out Honda will definately leave, but right after your quote it said "dependant on what's agreed"
I didn't say that.
I just quoted the warning issued by the head of Honda UK.
And you don't get the head of Honda UK issuing warnings to the UK Prime Minister if everything is peachy as you're trying to portray.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Again, this doesn't answer anything Hamish. You are now just hiding behind the (extremely obvious) point that everything is at risk. And that's what you appear to base your assumptions on. You appear little interested in the realistic way things would work, and even less interested in how the UK could respond (my EU lorry example being one).
As I said before, you are turning into a tin foil hatter....just on the EU.0 -

Exactly.
Why risk anything at all when there is no need.
Other than to satisfy the xenophobic anti-immigration activists.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

No need in your view?
And everyone who believes there may be a need are xenophobic anti-immigration activists?!
Well i suppose the saving grace is that this time, at least it took us 3 pages to get to that stance. It usually ends up at this point on page 1.
You lose the argument when you end up stating this all the time Hamish.0 -

Hamish, not many years ago the government were going to crack down on high earners targeting many in the financial sector). They all bleated they'd upsticks and move all their businesses to Geneva. Never happened, as we all knew perfectly well. It's just a threat. And by the way, Geneva isn't even in the EEA. let alone the EU. Didn't put anyone off from bigging it up as an ideal place to trade from.HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Why would EU countries not want to steal all the EU headquarters and manufacturing plants from the UK if we leave?
There's loads of reasons why headquarters and businesses are located where they are. As another poster once said if it was all based on financial decisions we'd all be in Jersey and the UK would be full of tumbleweeds. But that ain't happening!

Hamish sounds very similar to doom and gloom merchant Martin Sorrel, saying life will end if we leave the EU. Only thing is he said exactly the same thing back in 2004 when the UK would not join the Euro, and look how that went.0 -
            Translation...
Hamish thinking EU a good thing=It will allow millions of Romanians and Bulgarians to enter our borders.
And the only thing Hamish cares about is his house price, the fact that his house will be in the middle of a toilet of a country is irrelevant.
Personally I think this is going to be one immigrant influx too many, the majority of(non money grabbing) UK voters will not stand for it.
We might even learn by as early as next week when Cameron gives his speech on the EU what he is prepared to do to stop this.
I noticed Eric Pickles getting hot under the collar when quizzed by Andrew Neil this morning on this very subject. He was very cagey about how many he thinks will come our way, he still will not give an answer, and we only have 11 months to go.0 -

There are clear benefits to EU membership - most of us seem to be too young to realise just how easy it is to trade with our EU partners compared to decades past.
There are clear disadvantages too - IF millions of Romanian and Bulgarian (presumably low/ zero skilled) citizens are chomping at the bit waiting to travel here just to claim benefits and get a free house then that's not great.
What Cameron is doing is polarising the argument into an in/ out argument - why does it have to be like that? A decent politician would be trying to maximise the positive benefits and minimise the negative. Idiots in Brussels are playing the same game - pretending it's all or nothing.
If we leave we won't be living in mud huts within a decade but there will be a negative effect on the economy and anyone that thinks our European friends are going to bend over backwards to help us trade is being a little naive. If their politicians are like ours then they'll be more than willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces.
I know the 'big' speech hasn't happened yet but anyone else surprised at the lack of data from the government to go with the rhetoric? I'm not.0
