Tesco Sim Only Contract

Currently have a sim free smart phone and am using more monthly that my old basic PAYG phone.

Tesco have an offer for a sim only contrct for £7.50 a month with free calls, texts and enough data for my usage and this is half what ii top up now.

Will it really be a case of swapping my sims over or will i have to configure the internet, picture messging etc again? Will i get an itemised bill or does it work exactly like PAYG with no bill just the debit to pay?

Would love to hear from anybody that used this deal before i swap.

Even if you'll have to change some settings manually it's a very easy job to do. Don't know what smartphone you have, but for Androids there is an app that does the job if needed.
With any contract you always get an itemised bill.

Tesco deals are not bad, but if you post your airtime requirements you are likely to get suggestions for better options.

Thank you, would rather have payg so no ties but the tesco deal was a good one i thought.

I dont use calls very often and currently use vodafone freebies form£15 a month that gives 500 texts and 250mb of data. Would love unlimited texts and similar data with maybe a few free minutes as a bonus.

Do you use Watsapp? If so you won't need texts (I hardly used text now).

Then you can consider something like Ovivo. Only a tenner for the sim and you get 300mb, 100mins and 100txts per month.

Is your PAYG with tesco? Or you will need to ensure the handset you are using is not sim locked to a network other than Tesco (O2)

Do you know anyone who works for Tesco?

They have a staff deal at the moment offering:

    HTC Wildfire S
    500 mins
    5000 texts
    1Gb data

for £10 per month (24 month contract).

I've got a sim only with Tesco - 500 minutes, 5000 texts and 1 gig data - on a rolling monthly contract, so no real ties.

    That's what I have.

Strangely, their 12 month contract has just 500Mb of data. I would have thought it would be the other way round?

At any rate, I found the transition from O2 to Tesco easy. I had to change MMS/3G Internet settings as mine went back to the O2 ones but everything seems to be working well now.

Same here! I just moved from Vodafone and I was shocked to notice they have better coverage than Vodafone, well in my area they do.:D
