If they did replace Osborne which I can't see happening while Cameron is PM then I would suggest it would be best not to leave the choice up to Cameron. Given he chose Chloe Smith for the treasury job thinking she was an accountant rather than someone who had worked for one. Plus his terrible judgment on past appointments such as Andy Coulson. It would appear he's not suitable to be in charge of procuring the best candidate for the job, any job.

Can we stop the Labour cheer leading and discuss:

    - House Prices
    - The Economy

This is off topic and reported as such. I encourage others to report this post too.

Are you saying that the comp[etence of the Chancellor of the Exchequor is not about the economy?

In my view I would go for a rank outsider by the name of Matthew Hancock who is talented with economics to a high degree.

Presently Parliamentary Under Secretary for Education and Business Innovation and Skills...;)

He is the one who cannot get out of bed on time to attend an interview but whose government berates shirkers for being late for interviews.

Who could we have instead of Osborne as Chancellor? Things need to turn around in the next couple of months or we will lose our Triple A rating . If we do lose this crucial competence indicator, can Cameron surely allow Osborne to stay in place? He needs to start looking like a leader that is doing something about it ..... and because of Osbornes Plan A for austerity not working, theres nothing he can do to prevent what's coming? Except replace Osborne to paint a face-saving fresh approach?

Interesting post but since every man woman and future voter is in debt of a tune of 2,700 per month interest on the debt we got (And no it was not from labour we have been in debt since 1967 to be honest when Politicians started to borrow more money to gain popularity voting with us sheep...ERM! voters :)

There borrowing to a hefty Tune higher then Labour as for the AAA credit rating we already lost that its Coalitionist AAA review per quarter output, quarter 4 we see the review come into play by moodies

problem we have is Gideon and his Chums got excited when we received a 0.00000001% rise and stated the economy is rosy almost but started to borrow more money to aid Funds for Pensioners and pre tax speech plans which will place us back into a dip again,

YOu never borrow in a recession you save public spending borrowing and call in the big guns to sort out the growth however they been doing labours old plans of Cut!Cut!Cut!Cut! :)

I can imagine the look of disgust upon the face of Sir George Downing's portrait inside of the door of No 10 thinking, that the once village of Westminster can certainly pick their idiots these past two decades...
  • Even Lord Heseltine is critical of Cons on Growth/Europe - saying their policies and dithering over europe decision is terrible for business as no one will invest here while we might be pulling out of Europe at any minute - says they might as well invest in a good solid eu member like Germany or France than risk their cash here. Osborne should accept responsibility for the lack of growth bit - wonder who Hezza would recommend?

Lord Heseltine is a former Tory 'wet, and stirrer who in my view has not done anything notably useful or beneficial to the country in his whole political life. Like Heath, he made a whole political career our of being pro-Europe and has to keep the theme going at every opportunity.

By the way Cable is as responsible as Osborne for economic growth, and he can't crack it either.
No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.
