Yeah, all those people who get mugged for being naive and stupid enough to walk around outside at night - they deserve everything they get too...

The guy asked a perfectly reasonable question and half of the replies on here were either unhelpful, condescending or simply insulting. Maybe he did make a mistake but I very much doubt that you'd give a reply like that to someone to whom you were speaking in person.
I agree Lazyloki. It's sometimes easy to forget that we all have made mistakes and only learn from getting our fingers burnt. Making an error of judgement is just part of life and is one of the best ways to develop and grow, both at work and in in ones private lives.

Although unlikely that you will get a positive turnaround in this issue, I wish you the best of luck.
Do continue to gently and politely push your bank to contact the recipients bank to see if you can get the money back. It does appear likely the account is being used unlawfully and financial institutions do have a legal duty that accounts are managed lawfully in accordance with legislation.
Oh, and don't be put off in returning here to ask for more advice/support. Even though some folks may have come across as harsh in their comments, it shouldn't prevent you from from being an active moneysaver if that is what you want.
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

They usually say you a free to give your money to who you like, they are not there to refund you if you change your mind.
    Be happy...;)
