I've had a letter from Liverpool Court ordering me to provide Names, addresses and signed consent form of claimants (myself and husband). So things are now moving a little. Should this be just in the form of a letter from both of us?

Also, I have a couple of questions regarding a potential claim for compensation and am hoping somebody can help.
    • How do you find out the exact reason for the delay?
    • Do you actually have to have gone to the airport to be entitled to compensation? What if the flight is delayed over 5hrs and you do not need to take the flight (I have read over 5hrs delay means you don’t have to)? Do you have to have been at the airport or if you already knew it was going to be delayed for longer than 5hrs, and chose not to take the flight and book an alternative flight for the next day, would this be ok?

    Hi djpaulc247,

Start by Googling 'Vabans guide' download it and have a read. Many of your questions will be answered there. You will also find a link to the regulation which you should also have a look at.

Ask any follow up questions here.

    Good luck.
Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.

Hi again. I had an offer from the airline 'without prejudice' but the offer did not include interest. I replied by email letting them know the amount that was acceptable. My email asked for a 'read receipt' but never received the 'read receipt'. Should I also send a letter in the post?

I now have a letter from the Court (Liverpool) transferring the case to Watford. Quote "upon the County Court at Liverpool not having judicial capacity to deal with all issues in airline delay cases beyond case management where there is no other nexus to Liverpool".

I think Liverpool would have been preferable.

I haven't read your other posts but if you are basing your court case on the fact that the airline hasn't-given you interest I don't think they will take to kindly to that.
