Has anyone had any success with earlier claims?

In August 2005 we were delayed 24 hours flying from Manchester to Sharm el Sheikh and 24 hours returning.

The delay (I think!!) was caused by a baggage truck driving into the side of a plane the day before. Tat was due to fly to Florida so they "borrowed" the Sharm plane to fulfil this commitment. I believe the plane was still out of action 2 weeks later so they sent a smaller plane that took half the people home on time, but the other half had to wait 24 hours. The flights were with Excel I believe.

Does anyone recall this or know if its worth looking into it?

Managed to call Monarch about my letter i sent June 29th. They stated that it was received and they sent some claim forms on July 5th. Informed them that they haven't arrived?? So the very helpful :-) young lady is emailing them to me.

I have to complete and return them and they will get back to me to tell me if i will get any compensation....

If I were you, I would include a Notice Before Action with those forms and give them 14 days or you'll go to court. They use the forms as a delaying tactic.
