£50 fine while parked in resident parking

Hi, I hope someone can help!
On the 4th of Jan I discovered that I had a parking ticket on my windscreen. The ticket was issued late the previous evening at 22.50.
My main annoyance is that I was parked in a resident bay outside my flat. It seems that I had forgotten to put my permit on my dashboard.
The issuer (ANPR LTD) state that forgetting to display a permit is not an excuse.
Things to note:
The (offroad) bays that I parked in does not have a sign stating any parking restrictions. There is also a resident car park around the back of our flat and that does have a sign stating restrictions.
The road along the front is signed but requires a different permit.
The property management company of the flat I rent employ the issuer ANPR LTD. They state in the letter that came with my permit that the Car park is patrolled between 7 am and 7 pm.
The notice I received has been dated 3/1/12 not 3/1/13. An easy mistake this time of year!
I know I should have displayed my permit, but It's hard to accept a £50 fine for this as I ultimately have a right to park there.
Should I ignore, appeal or pay?
Thanks in advance
Garry

It's not a fine! Just an invoice for an alleged breach of contract that can be ignored! And as there can possibly be no loss this will never go to court. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Ignore, they rocked your car until the permit fell off.

There was another thread on this a few days ago. Someone will give you the lowdown, but don't pay!
Here's the other thread.

Thanks for a quick response. My only concern is that ANPR LTD are a BPA approved operator.
And reading on this site Poplar say forgetting to display a ticket is not an excuse.
Thanks

Both of those are part of a club run by the scam fake parking ticket industry club.
Run by and paid for by guess who, yep themselves.
They had to find new jobs after clubbing seals was outlawed.Be happy...;)0 -

OP obviously hasn't read a similar thread.
well now could be a good time to advise them to, the site is extensive on it's files on the private parking ticket scam and a ready source of re-assurance and information.
Then they can ask questions once they have a understanding of what it is they have been given.
It starts with It is NOT a fineBe happy...;)0 -
I'd want a bit more detail if I was in that situation and the OP obviously hasn't read a similar thread.
The detail has already been given
1) This is for an alleged breach of contract
2) This won't go to court
3) It's not a fine
4) Ignore
