Jessops and my order :-(

Options
iam so sick with worry.. Monday night i ordered my lovely £800+ camera from Jessops website.. saved up a good deposit and applied for their 10month interest free credit option.. put down £300 of my very hard earned savings..
It was supposed to be next day delivery, so since it was monday night I guessed it would arrive Wednesday, well wednesday came and no camera.. they phoned me and left a voicemail, saying that i couldn't have my camera delivered to the different delivery address it has to go to the card holder address, so rung them back (at this point I had not seen the news and did not see that they were in administration)
Bloke on the phone was very unhelpful and said my camera would be delivered today, well today has been and gone and still no camera..
Ive checked my bank online.. it shows no money has left my account but it has not updated to show todays transactions.. can my bank stop this transaction?? what about my credit agreement with them..

iam so sick with worry.. please anyone have any advice??

Thanks

Play safe, call them back and ask if the can put a block on.
    Return anything that "may" arrive
They are in administration and so is any contract.
The Administrators can collect any due payments and put the money towards debts and not send anything.
    I would play safe.
    Be happy...;)

Yep, them the rules. You become a creditor and so while entitled to a refund if you don't get your goods, the business only has so much money and many (more important) creditors, so you could receive nothing or pennies to the pound.
  • so basically i should of just chucked my £300 down the drain.. wow i feel sick

Sweetspeas, have you read MSE's New article on the subject?

Might also be worth reading their Administration Help document too.

You can't block a transaction in that way.
Returning it is only going to make the situation worse.

Just leave things as they are and see what happens.

So the camera hasn't arrived, but then they haven't actually taken any of the money for your deposit from your account? I wonder if the IFC you applied for is the issue that's holding things up??
