This thread is very addictive, I am trying to sort DS bedroom out, I have pulled the bed out and hoovering under and around it, OMG the dust, but I keep getting pulled back to check here and in between I am watching This Morning!!!! Its not like his room is very big, but its taken me all morning so far, I have also changed all the beds.
That's further than I get, I'm still stuck on tidying my kitchen (and have been for weeks now)
I swear I'll get the bedrooms tidied again one day. I'm sure it's meant to be today as I don't have to do the school run this afternoonBut everyone knows it's more important to keep up on here first, then housework second...

The buyer didn’t receive it so I offered to send them the proof of postage. When you claim from Royal Mail for lost parcels you can only claim the cost to yourself and not how much you sold it for. The buyer ignored my message offering to send proof and opened a case with ebay at which point they put £28 from my Paypal account on hold. I tried to communicate with the buyer but they ignored me and then I realised they were no longer a registered user. Their feedback was loads of negs as they’d been selling fake perfume, so I assumed that to be the reason they’d been banned.
Because my money was still on hold I escalated the case to ebay and pointed out that the buyer was no longer registered and had already proved themselves untrustworthy, but ebay found in favour of the buyer and sent them the refund! They told me they always find in favour of the buyer if there is no tracking number. You don’t get a tracking number with ordinary post, only recorded, registered or using a courier, Parcelforce etc.
I was really upset as I didn’t know this before but it seems that any buyer can just claim to have not received their parcel and they can get a refund if it was sent ordinary first or second class post. Ebay have never made this clear to sellers. The other problem is with Royal Mail as it didn’t used to be so difficult to claim from them but now it seems you need proof of the items cost to you.
I sent a complaint to all the directors as I could not find what I needed to do to appeal the case. I told them that my buyer being a fraudster had not even been taken into consideration or the fact that it had been mentioned in their feedback about other parcels not received. Result – I got my £28 back and £10 compensation. This is good for me but I won’t be using ebay so much now as everything needs to be recorded so that buyers cannot lie. With the cost of this as well as high postage rates in the first place and extortionate ebay and Paypal fees, its much harder to make a profit as a seller than it was a few years ago.
Unfortunately this is the way Paypal works, if you have no absolute proof the buyer recieved the item (usually electronic tracking) then they will nearly always find in favour of the buyer.
I was stung once, I sold stuff for years and the buyer was also a seller too. His terms for selling, like mine stated 'I am not resposnsible for lost packages where the buyer has declined to pay for insurance'.
Needless to say he bought off me, declined insurance and then hit me with a chargeback when his package didn't arrive - obviously doesn't practice what he preaches!!
Needless to say he got his money back and I just had to take it on the chin, can't remember the amount but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth when someone doesn't play by their own rules.
I gave up selling years ago, but not because of that, unfortunately I think the risk comes with the whole online selling thing. It's just one of those things I was lucky enough to only be hit by once.

Can I just say - echeques are created because buyer hasn't updated their card details (end date expired on card) just a nudge sometimes helps them to check & update
And also always always send everything recorded - working in Post Office I see so many people caught out by these 'pluckers'
Also with POP never send it to the buyer. It is your responsiblity to claim back from Royal Mail.
