by the way joining the horse meat debate, we keep horses and love them I don't eat meat at all, but boys do and they do not think there is anything wrong in eating horsemeat, was really surprised when they said that, my older lad said if they were farmed like any other farm animal it would be no different to eating any other meat, in fact if they bread more of the bigger breeds of horses it would protect the breeds that are dying out as people don't keep heavy horses any more, I was surprised as he has his own horse he loves his sister was outraged he said we have pet chickens but eat chicken so as long as your not eating your own pets there is no difference

to add my bit to the debate . I don't know why in Britain we have chosen not to eat horse meat regularly or some others such as dog cat and rat . my grandfather told me during the war he ate all four as other meats were in short supply . I don't think I would choose to eat any of them but if the products were correctly labelled and fit for human consumption others would have the choice .

    :(:(

Mother had them and would cause her terrible pain, a few times she ended up getting pethidine to manage the pain. She has had them removed but still gets a phantom pain now and again.

The pain I get puts me out of action for around 24 hours and I had put off going back the GP, as I didn't want it investigated but had 3 episodes one week after another before xmas absolutely excruciating, worse than labour pains as constant. :(
I don't know whether to be relieved or not that they could not find any gallstones, the symptons were classic gall stone troubles. Although I was told yesterday it is not impossible to get gall bladder problems without stones but rare. So back to the drawing board at the moment.

DS2 in Fallowfield said there is snow around but the roads and most of the pavements are clear. He told me it hadn't reached him. Bless, his room is high up in tower block uni halls, be a problem for the rest of us if it reached him!

Owen's Park by any chance? :)

I can understand his philosophy we have pet rabbits but also sell rabbit as wild game from the business, but there is no way I would eat rabbit but do appreciate that other do with no second thought. I think it's what is commonly accepted within the society we live in that makes us either fine with it or not what ever the meat is after all guinea pigs are eaten in other parts of the world:eek:.

Just spoke to her and she is gona wait for update on airport site at 12. She decided against hotel as if he is delayed she may have to check out before he even arrives and kill time elsewhere. It's a long haul flight with several stops so there is a real chance he will be delayed I think . We are still snowing here but lightly and just checked street and starting to settle a bit but very slushy, the main roads are usually better though as more traffic on them. Thanks again

Good idea waiting til 12 for an update:) Just started snowing again now, main roads are clear at the moment though:)

Thank you I think she looked on web and it was £17 for 2 hours. The McDonald's idea is great thank you i will google opening times and let her know. None of us have been to heathrow before, usually Manchester or Leeds so local knowledge is invaluable. Thank you so much x

Macdonalds is definately a good idea, and will save her a small fortune if she has to wait for hours:)

I take it that it is also the 1st time on the M25!

As QPR has said the getting into the right lane is a nightmare for T1, 2 and 3...

T5 is straightforward once you're are off M25..

I really don't want to alarm you but all the big motoring organisations are advising against travel and for a young driver on an unknown motorway it really is unadvisable...please get her to reconsider xx

Lovely article from the food writer Giles Coren in yesterday's Times. Basically saying what were people expecting from value burgers? Organic farm bred lean mince steak? He thought the horse meat in the burgers was the least of your worries.

    do you have a link!:D

Before Traveling in the Snow always pack the following: warm coat, hat, gloves, sturdy boots, a blanket to keep you warm if you get stuck. Take some food, chocolate, biscuits, water and a hot drink if you can. Always carry a fully charged mobile, and some old bits of carpet, or cat litter, to put under the tyres I must have looked like a right idiot on the bus today

You also need something to have a widdle in ! Several years ago I got stuck for hours - the men could easily find a handy bush and turn their backs, MUCH harder for the women.
