Just popped my head out of the front door :eek:still constant snow and getting thicker but really strange no traffic, very quite ,no people almost spooky ;)Looks like folks are being sensible and staying in the warm and not going out unless they really need to.Lamb stew cooked complete with dumplings so off to have a nice big bowl for lunch.

Making me hungry. Wish I could have a bowl :)

What a awful winter that was If I remember it started snowing boxing day 62 I was in training Army in Woking surrey and all I remember is No Drill on the Square but indoor drill in Gymnasium in plimsols also spending many hours and days shovelling snow in Woking town center

It's my parents golden wedding anniv tomorrow and they always talk about the winter of '63 and the big freeze, funny how it's exactly 50 years to the day (tomorrow) with the same weather! Having a big family celebration, DS on way back from Uni, lots of nice things coming for mum and dad, hope I can get to M&S to pick up the cake tomorrow ;)

Up here in the North East we are used to having rotten weather. In fact we have the opposite problem when summer unexpectedly arrives and we get a couple of days of hot weather. Plumbers busy helping people who don't know how to turn the heating off, panic buying of sunglasses/suncream and the supermarket shelves are emptied of beer to help keep cool as soon as the temperature rises into double figures:rotfl::rotfl:

pmsl i have to buy loads of anti histamine cos dh comes out in a rash when he gets to much sun light:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
