We have a Spar at the local petrol station, I bought some coal the other day no coupon and my dd bought rolls and milk today, no coupon, so might not be every Spar
May have to see if I can get a few of those unwanted ones and recycle themCoupons = the only money we can legally print for ourselves:D

I was reminising about the winter of 1985 earlier. I was 5 & my dad took me sledging, he cracked the sledge by going on it himself! He pulled it home, me sitting on it while I ate a potato scollop, we went down the middle of the road as tge snow was up to his knees & no traffic anywhere!
I know we had deep snow at the end of 1984 but we got married in Feb 85 and there was no snow then for us:)The person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -
can I just quickly remind you all not to post flashing images (even the sparkly ones!) Thanks.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: Sorry, the flashing image posted on this thread has been removed (please see this rule). If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Keep reading on different forums today people having trouble with mice in their sheds. I understand that some peanut butter is very tempting to them!
Artha - this whoopsie shopping is a challenge in our area - they keep changing the times in our stores. Last monday I got 6 hot x cross buns for 24p at 2.30 in sainsbury, on wed they were 84p at the same time (probably the same amount on the shelf). My local tesco I have yet to hit at the right time - I think it is now quite late in the evening which doesn't suit me. I would rather chill out than go out on the hunt especially in winter. Asda has so many people on a sunday afternoon you have to be so lucky to be near the counter as the times vary. Very interesting thread on potatoes on food shopping. Last year I had bags of spuds everywhere - this year they are so expensive and never ys.
I agree about the potatoes - not seen any ys ones yet this yearAnyway update on cheap bin bags from B and M
60 for 99p feel thin as in pull them out of bin and you only get the top half and they need to be an inch longer for my bin only a bit sticking over edge. So I would need to put a block of wood in bin then bin bag to stop them being pulled into bin when we put rubbish in there . So far not good but will have to see if they rip when I remove them.
Kitchen roll that I have been buying 3 rolls 3 ply 70 sheets £1.29 thought it was a £1 but must have been mistaken can not go wrong at that price.
Aquafresh toothpaste in a pump 99p good times
Hubster is very fussy with bin bags and hates them splitting - found a good one in MrM and bought loads when they were on offer, they feel very thin but none have split we are down to last roll so left us know how the bags performrhosynbach wrote: »thank you so much ds is very nervous about being put to sleep
and my mum his ony grandparent has not been it touch to wish him luck nor any of the family so felt a bit let down so this means a lot
Thinking of you both and hope all goes well
The fire brigade came round our estate last year (or year before) and fitted/replaced smoke alarms free of charge - our old fire alarm used to go off when I was cooking so I think newer models are better at detecting cooking vapours from fire smoke as this one has not gone off when cooking - alas the poor woofa still goes into her bed when I light the grill as she no likely the fire alarm going off
Think the light flurry of snow has stopped but think tomorrow is forecast to be horrible - stay safe and warm folks0 -

I start all my spring cabbages, cauli and broccoli in there. I also do some early tomatoes. And all the early garden flowers. I bought a poly tunnel last year, so I transplant them in to there end of jan/feb (weather permitting). My beloved grapevine is in there also and I am very keen to keep it alive! I am a bit obsessed with it:o
I have herbs growing in there as well, so I have them pretty much all year round.
I do have some veg in the poly tunnel already, sprouts, cabbage, onions, garlic and broccoli but the water coming up from underneath has hampered them a bit:( and ill be surprised if I get any winter spuds:(0 -

Not a flake of snow here in NE Scotland, last time we were snowed in was on my daughters 21st on the 28th of Jan. She will be 30 this year. : )
hopepray, did you live in that area in the mid to late 90s? I can't remember the year, but I think it must have been between 1995-1998? I lived at RAF Kinloss and the temp got down to -25. The water in our toilet froze:eek:......we had to put a calor gas fire under the loft hatch to keep the tank for freezing. That is the coldest I ever remember being:eek:0 -

I didn't mean to cast doubt on your memory, just saying where I am it was very deep at the end of 84 but can remember Feb 85 was clear, I have a memory like a chicken but because I got married then I have a reference point , anyway it can be one extreme to the other between one end of the country to the other so you may get snow tomorrow and we might see that sunThe person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0
