Hi,
HMV is holding a online Blue Cross sale offering 25% off selected Blu-ray, CD & DVD titles - enter code 25BLUECROSS at the checkout.

The 25% blue cross sale had already started in the HMV in Sheffield today but to be honest there wasnt a great selection (personally speaking) in the blurays and anything that did seem half decent seemed to have an inflated price tag!0

After the post Xmas sale they always have a price promotion ... usually the 3 for .... 5 for .... They are just trying something new to get some cash to pay the bills, and I say support them .... I mean I won't be buying online now anyway as play.com is drastically changing, so no more cheap DVDs from Jersey
I'll be having a look there next week, especially the Blu Rays. 0 -
Doesn't work for a lot of items even if they're in the sale! Trying to get a blu-ray in the offer and it won't take off the 25%!0

Just check your potential Blu-Ray purchase against a comparison site like http://www.find-dvd.co.uk/
I'm a bit of a Blu-Ray hoarder and checked almost all of their Blu-Rays and found most cheaper elsewhere even after the 25% off (* a few were pence cheaper at HMV - Limitless was one)--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0 -
When ever I went in there, I was put off by the music (?) being played - seemed more for the assistants pleasure than anything else.
Why could that make a difference - if 'young people' mainly get their music from downloads - then IMHO seems obvious to play background music that more older people would like. It then becomes a more welcoming place to visit - and buy whether its Adele or Led Zeppelin!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
I'm liking the idea of going into HMV and hearing Vera Lynn or something like Puccini instead of the current noise they emit...--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0

Went into HMV store in the Trafford Centre. Saw Harry Potter wizard collection for £195.
I asked the manager if this was in the blue cross sale as it was not marked.
He lifted the item took it to the till, typed away and then said, I'll knock off £20, making it £175 and I'll put a blue cross on it, making it £132 and you can use your £5 till voucher which came to £126.
We bought it, amazon were selling it for £174, zavvi online £149.
For anyone interested there was another harry potter wizard collection there.
My point, ask the manager if it is in the sale, they are the ones who can make the decision0 -
Make sure you do your sums - one of the blue-cross items didn't go through as such on Saturday, and I had to go back to get the discount.0
